Just spoke to an excellent salesman at Audi who used to work at VW. In regards to allocation of the first run, basically the dealers get allocated a number of cars based on their size and sales. They then order the options and colours that they think they can sell.

Because of this, if they haven't already put in their order (and I doubt they will until they receive pricing/specs etc. at the end of the month), and you put your name on their list with your specific requirements, they can pretty much order the exact car that you're looking for.

That's encouraging.

The new VW Golf Mk7 GTI has arrived! I'll keep you posted with new info, specs, prices. I just saw it and expect a boggo base model, no xenons, very spartan interior (compared to Germany et al.) and most importantly there will be a significantly lower starting price.

You are a day late, we found out yesterday, it is under the GTI thread ..

So when will be finding out all this information you hold or when is embargo ..

I can't scan and publish anything right now, I'll post it all ASAP. The embargo will be lifted in the next day or two, they will send us a memo through AutoNews - The source for automotive information.

I can publish/post more information when they put everything up on autonews. All I can say now is: welcome to the new affordable hot hatch king! The GTI is back and my goodness should the others be worried!

I dont want you to tell me anything, just if you went to a press day and if you know if we will be getting the performance pack or not ..

Halgoen = No line
Xenon = Line

I think you are right Pologti18t because I dont think he knows otherwise why would he be on the VW facebook page asking them only 30 mins ago if they will bring the performance pack .. maybe they forgot to put that in the press pack and he thought he should check ..

No official press day (launch) as such and I have no idea as to the PP. I'd say its not on the first shipment though. I should've had a look under the car to see the diff, and maybe measured the brakes rotors... They did look big though... But then again I don't have a point of reference... As soon as I can or know more, I'll let all of you know.

If you have photos, PP pack has 'GTI' on the front brake calipers
