Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The S3 Sedan would be over my budget.
I drove the A3 Sedan TDI yesterday (with the Sports package). Although it drove well, the road noise and engine noise bothered me. I am hoping to test the 1.4 TSI w/o the sports package to see if it would be quieter and smoother with the 7sp DSG. Has anyone test driven an A3 Sedan? Better still has anyone bought an A3 Sedan and so can give some feedback.
We compared the price of a 2 ltr Quattro, and ticked all the options we would get, it would had cost just under a based S3, so after few more test drive, we settled on an S3 sedan and placed an order.
You will be able to find and get more feedback here:

Picked up my GTI last Wednesday and it is AWESOME!
One query that I have though: I am not able to keep the front wipers "lifted up" to clean under them as the car bonnet is blocking. Is this part of the design where they are not able to be lifted? Or did I miss something here?MY14 | MkVII | Golf GTI | Deep Black | DSG | Bi-xenon lights

You need to put them in maintenance mode. Turn the car off and push the wiper stalk up or down (can't remember which) and they will swing to the upright position and stay there. You can then lift them up completely

I've been told: Ignition on, then off, then hold the wiper stalk down for a few seconds. The wipers will sweep up to a vertical position so you can get them off the screen for cleaning.MY14 MK VII GTI | Pure White | Manual | Bi-Xenons (his)

I'm told last night's TopGear UK featured the Mk7 GTI v M135i, except I can't download it from my present location.
Wait a few hours for Episode 5 to be added
