Hi All,

Could someone tell me if its possible to get the dealer to add on the DAP package after the car has been delivered?

really interested in the DAP package, didn't think to get it added on before delivery. Currently have a 90 TSI Comfortline

2015 90 TSI Golf Comfortline manual transmission.

Hello all I took delivery of a new 90TSI manual Golf comfort line yesterday and have the following queries.

1. The aircon automatically turns on when I turn the blower fan on. The temp setting is at the midpoint 22 degrees. Is they any way of preventing the aircon automatically switching on.

2. How does one dim the instrument panel and steering wheel buttons illumination.?

3. Apart from muting the radio is it possible to turn the radio off and leave the infotainment screen on in vehicle status mode?

4. Having transitioned from a 1.9TDI Polo manual, can you give me some running in tips for this petrol engine Golf.

Like should I maintain a rev limit of 3000rpm for gear shifts 2/3/4/5/6 up to 1000kms and then gradually increase the revs through the rpm range during gear shifts upto 5000kms???

5. As mentioned in this forum the drivers wiper doesn't have a clean sweep action with the rubber visibly having a juddering action. Any solutions for this??

6. The USB point in the lower console doesn't seem to charge the GPS unit as I realized it today. Looks like the 12v ciggie lighter slot is the only charge point available??

7. Does the DRL actually utilize the low beam light or is it a different light bulb i.e. parking light bulb??

2. There should be a dial looking thing to the right of the steering wheel next to the headlight switch, this adjusts the interior lighting brightness.

5. Try bending the wiper, it shouldn't snap but be careful.

7. The dipped beams are either the same as the drl but brighter or a completely different bulb. Not completely sure.

There is only a headlight adjusting dial next to the lighting switch.

The owners manual covers golf/ gte/gti/gtd and has everything under the sun but vague about the questions I have raised. There is a massive section in this manual devoted to hybrid engines and their heavy duty batteries.

The DRL has its own filament, the bulb is a H15 15/55w. 15 watt for the DRL and 55w for the High beam.

As far as the wipers go get a set of Bosch Aerotwins, I changed mine a month after buying my Comfortline.

BTW guys I reread the manual last night and found that the panel illumination is adjusted either through the dial next to head lighter adjuster or in cars without that adjuster the illumination can be adjusted through the infotainment system by pressing the CAR button and going through its sub menu. Will try it today.
However I am none the wiser regarding the air con starting by itself when the blower is activated.

I think that only happens if you have the recirculate mode on.

To all the smart alecs with wise comments.

Yes most of the questions asked are basic and as I mentioned before a re-read of the manual did indicate fair few of those functions are controlled through the infotainment system.

However as I was unable to access the sub menus under the CAR button in the infotainment system a visit to the dealer today sorted it out.

They fixed a glitch in the infotainment menu (in their words ) now able to access the whole spectrum of menu options under the CAR button and answers found.

To those that helped out thank you very much indeed.

Good to see you got the problem sorted. The solution certainly wasn't what anyone had thought of.

I apologize if this has been asked before but I haven't been able to find a conclusive answer with the search function. Is it possible to access the your phones contact list through the MFD? I can only seem to be able to access the last call list.

I haven't figured out how to do that either, and am fairly sure you can't. Happy to be proven wrong tho
