When I picked up my car earlier this week traffic was already active so I imagine you'll be right.. when your dealer goes through the car with you it wouldn't hurt to ask!

This feature is standard on the Discover Media system I think - no involvement from the dealer required.

For other models - i'm not sure.

Is there an extra service fee or extra hardware to your knowledge to enable this?

In the Radio setup menu, I see this. If the Traffic Programme option is not ticked, do so. I think mine came unticked.

Once its ticked, if you are in the metro areas and you click the Traffic button, you should see this:

Me too I have a mark 6 so feel the same way....

Oh and feel even worse as I just ticked the option in my my13 high line, and nothing .. And I am 25 km away from the centre of Melbourne

tonymy01: don't feel too isolated, my Golf mkVII Highline doesn't get the TP option either. I get the first screen on spikeyboy22 post. But despite putting a tick in the box, nothing happens when I press the TP button (screen says "no reports available"). My Golf is an my13 vehicle. Guess this is one of the differences with the my14 car.

Does anyone here with an my13 model have TP working?

The RCD 200 in the my 8yr old Polo has TP. Doesn't work in Australia as far as I know. We have gone down the SUNA path for traffic info.

Would some with traffic working be able to check the hardware and software codes so we can compare what they are in our cars please?

Cans going in for a service Wed and different I can ask them to update ...

I went ahead and brought a new Golf the other week. After being behind the wheel of a company car for so long I'm really looking forward to having my own car. Passed on all options to keep the price within budget however I expect only a mild level of mods to take place over time as those days are really behind me now.

I went with the 2.0 TDI for three reasons. 1) Growing up my dad always praised diesel motors. 2) To me it just felt better on the test drive (may have been biased? see point 1). 3) The 6 speed DSG.

I went with Night Blue. Picking the paint was the hardest part, I was torn between several and rather indecisive. I think photos don't do night blue justice but in real life it just clicked for me.

I'm still waiting for a firm date however they are expecting it around the 28th of Jan as one was in stock at a holding yard and only needs to be trucked to the dealer.

One thing I was a bit disappoint with was a lot of my research took place with other country specs like 8"screen & voice control. After leaving the dealer I'm also unsure about the ride height. I thought the Highline model was lower then the Comfort line but higher then the GTI, now think in Australia only the GTI is lower.

Anyway was able to use those small disappointment to negotiate a price I'm happy with (I'm really bad at that). Really hanging out to drive my own.
