  • I suggest you start taking more care on your words. I've asked for some useful info about the status page and nothing about that on your post. Go after that dealer which you suggest is the same cable, do not threat people here.

    • Newbie here!

In relation to VC, i have a 2017 Caddy van and i get the same "activate via dealer" when i hit the steering button.

When i questioned them about enabling it, the service man said that there is supposed to be an additional module that needs installing, however VW are having a few issues with it.

That was end of last year so don't know how valid that is.

      Great forum BTW!

      • Well I've booked my car in this Thursday. I'll be asking again how can I enable the mute function. And be asking to completely remove the VC altogether

I put some screenshots to make you understand better.

When I put the indicator to turn left, the left inside and outside LED's indicate in alternate - that's what I wanted, but also the inside right hand side LED strip flashes. When I indicate right, just the outside right hand side LED lights indicate but nothing else. So to me it seems in the right hand inside LED strip are configured wrong, but I can't figure out what I did!

My settings at the moment are exactly like the new setting here - I've got an MY16 Golf R.

EDIT - Got it fixed. I should read the instructions better! :/
How did you get this fixed? I messed up the same way

Byron: Of course there could be many reasons for the observed behavior of your inside right hand side LED tail-light, but my hunch (from your description) is that you have inadvertently applied a links leuchte-command to the right side inner Leuchte-set, rather than the correct, rechts command.

So, if my hunch is correct- then look through the 19 x adaptation channels for Leuchte17TFL R BLK SRB3TFL R BLK SR KC3 and see if you can find a setting with the term "links" in its name. My guess is that likely this will be Blinken links Hellphase , or Blinken links Dunkelphase. Change this command to the similarly worded Blinken rechts Hellphase , or Blinken rechts Dunkelphase command.

              • Hey guys,

Ive been toying around with coding in leaving home lights (lights on with key fob unlock). I have a base 90tsi without OEM light sensor yet have retrofitted a third party sensor with an OEM switch - although the BCM doesnt recognise this therefore it's not as simple as activating it using OBD11.

i've figured out that a non-light sensor based leaving home function IS possible as it's been done on MQB Seat Leons (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bP-_9vkfIw)

i've done this code although it's for leaving home using fog lights and out tail lights,

My example for outer tail lights and fog lights
                STG 09, 31347, Adaption,
                Leuchte 23 SL Lichtfunktion H „Interior Light“
                Leuchte 24 SL Lichtfunktion H „Interior Light“
                Dimming-Wert GH: 100 (case LED 126)
                Dimming-Direction GH: Maximize

                Leuchte12NL LB45 Lichtfunktion C12, "Interior Light"
                Leuchte12NL LB45 Dimmingwert CD12, 126
                Leuchte12NL LB45 Dimming-Direction CD12, Maximize
                Leuchte13NL LB5 Lichtfunktion C13, "Interior Light"
                Leuchte13NL LB5 Dimmingwert CD13, 126
                Leuchte13NL LB5 Dimming-Direction CD13, Maximize

Apparently this code/method should have effect of activating the exterior lights with the interior lights, therefore having the 'leaving home' lights effect

I also attempted the 5 brake light tweak at the same time but i've now ended up with a constantly on inner two tail lights and the leaving home function only illuminates the inner two tail lights.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction to alter this so it actually used the low beams/rear running lights (essentially the same as OEM leaving home)?

                Thanks!

Point: Hi. I always enjoy reading lateral thinking ways of problem solving - the use of the "interior light" command for the LH function is a great exampled of this! I'm not sure about the particular sequence of Leuchte commands in your post, but if you say that it works, then I suggest the following:

The Leuchte-set for the left-side low beam lamp is Leuchte6ABL LC5
The Leuchte-set for the right-side low beam lamp is Leuchte7ABL RB1

For both of these Leuchte-sets and regardless of lamp type (i.e, halogen. or HID), the factory setting for the "C" and "D" alpha-pair is not active - meaning that you should be able to just write your instructions straight into the channels as follows

                  Leuchte6ABL LC5 - C6 > "Interior Light"
                  Leuchte6ABL LC5 - Dimmingwert CD6 > 126
                  Leuchte6ABL LC5 - Dimming-Direction CD 6> Maximize

                  Leuchte7ABL RB1 - C7 > "Interior Light"
                  Leuchte7ABL RB1- Dimmingwert CD7 > 126
                  Leuchte7ABL RB1 - Dimming-Direction CD 7> Maximize

As for your tail light issue, it makes sense that the "leaving home function only illuminates the inner two tail lights" because these are the Leuchte sets that you changed. If you want the effect to also apply to the outer (brake) lights, then assuming that the "G" and "H" alpha pairs on you car are set as not active, then you will need to apply the same tail-light changes to Leuchte20BR LA71 (left-side) and Leuchte21BR RC8 (right-side)

It's not so clear why your inner tails are constantly switched-on, but if you post-up the complete Leuchte-set values (i.e. 19 x adaptation channels) for one of these inner lights, I'll take a look

                  Don

                  • @DV52:

My parking lights will stay on when I turn off ignition, until I open the front door - that's when they turn off. This however, happens only in the night. During daylight, this behavior doesnt happen - the car immediately turn off the parking lights when I press the button and turn off ignition... Is it possible somehow to make the parking lights stay on also during daytime in this matter?

                    Thanks in advance

                      1. Select 09 - Central Electr control module
                      2. Select Security Access - 16 from the "Open Controller" screen
                      3. Enter the magic number 31347 and return to the "Open Controller" screen
                      4. Select Adaptation - 10 from the "Open Controller" screen
                      5. From the pull-down button Select (6)-Daytime running lights-Tagfahrlicht-Dauerfahrlicht aktiviert zusaetzlich Standlicht, is not active by default, make this active. (Google translation result is Daytime running light daytime running lights additionally activated parking light)

                      More observation:

                      • Instrument Cluster Illumination, I have not yet checked whether the intensity of illumination changes based on the light with this Mod. (ICI coming on is no magic here, I believe it will be illuminated if light switch is moved to parking lights day or night. since the parking lights are forced to run along with DRL's cluster stays on). Don's work on this as per Post#446 is exquisite. This mod keeps the Dot LED on in all light switch positions.
                      • I checked deactivate start stop function value and it showed mode not active. But I am 100% sure I saved the value “stop prohibition, no start request”. So when I saved and tested it without restarting the car it worked. But when I switch off the car overnight and started in the morning it has gone back to mode not started, maybe or maybe I did not save it properly (no way), that is why start stop started working again. At least this is my belief so I have reverted back minimum voltage stock value for start stop and set the deactivate start stop back to “stop prohibition, no start request” for further observation.

                      Concern:

I am not sure if this Dot LED is capable of running all the time. Do they have enough cooling heat sinks? Could someone kindly advise on this matter, please.
I tried this on my 2016 Golf Alltrack and it worked ok but the downside is the tail lights are also on at all times with the Dot LED. Has anyone else found this?

Drive: hmm........clearly the car's settings in Sweden are different to here in the deep south - not surprising given the very different weather conditions in our two countries!

Short answer is that I don't know (my car doesn't do this)- do you have Scandinavian DRLs enabled on your car?

Drive: On my beast - with the rotary light switch in the auto position and in night time conditions, the main beam and parking light are switched-on as normal. If I turn-off the ignition, the main beam lamps turn-off when the ignition is turned-off (i.e. the Terminal 15 voltage is removed) and the parking lights turn-off when the key is removed from the lock barrel (i.e. the "S" contact is opened). This behavior is established (I believe) by setting to active the adaptation channel in the BCM with the title Driving light and parking light-Standlicht aus bei LDS=ABL und S-Kontakt aus.

During daylight hours, the main beam doesn't illuminate (of course) and whilst the parking light lamp is switched-on, it functions as a DRL.
