In my Golf it is already the rain / light / humidity sensor - 8U0 955 559 B.

I apologize if I'm wrong "section" but also from Italy using google translator I could not have found anything.

Here I found this link in Italian:

fabbromix: Ciao e Benvenuto nel forum

I've limited my response to your specific question about the famous wire 9 from the handle to the control unit BCM. Here's a wiring diagram that I developed some time ago that shows how the 9 wires are connected between the Euro-switch (what you call "the handle") and the BCM.

If your car wasn't factory fitted with the light (Rain/Humidity) sensor, then the missing wire would likely be the one that operates the AUTO function. As you can see from my picture, this is the connection to PIN #2 on the Euro-switch and the other end of the wire is connected to PIN #16 of Socket C on the BCM.

It's easy to find PIN #2 on the Euro-switch because the pin numbers are stamped on the base of the connector. The BCM connections are shown in the picture below

    Good luck with the project

        Thanks for the welcome ...
Excellent explanation and photos you have clarified many doubts in me about.
you post a picture of various plugs you can indicate which I may be suitable for Socket and auto switch?

fabbromix: Alas I don't have access to ETKA, so unfortunately I can't supply the part numbers for the two female connectors.

But the pins need to accommodate 0.35 square millimeter wire. I've checked on my test bench and the BCM male-pin (which will mate with the Socket C connector) is the smallest size - there are 3 x different size pins on the BCM.

Perhaps another forum colleague here can respond?

            • Sorry to ask a question if it's already been answered but has anybody managed to get the front tear drop function to work on a MK7 R? The rear is already active. I'm trying to use an OBD11.
              Thanks

Reedy: Hi. I've not done this tweak and I think that I recall reading that some have had problems implementing the teardrop facility (not sure though). Anyway - here's how it's done with an OBD11 dongle:
                1. Select Central electrics module (@ address hex09)
                2. Select Security access
                3. Enter the magic number 31347
                4. Follow the screens below:

                  • I remember reading somewhere the other day how to disable the safety message that appears periodically on the discovery system telling you to obey the road rules or something like that. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

                        • Golf GTI PP - Diff VCDS?

                          Hey Guys,
New to VW products, I have new Skoda RS230, same as the Golf GTI PP (169 kw).

Has anyone done any VCDS mods to the Diff?

Reviews say the diff is set a bit softer in the skoda than the GTI PP/SEAT cars.
                          Cheers

HP: Hi: I'm not sure about your Skoda, but there's a fairly mature VCDS tweak for the mk7 that alters the setting for the Expanded electronic differential lock.

You could look through the adaptation list for the ABS module (@ address hex03) in your car for a channel with a similar sounding name. The firmware for the ABS module on early mk7s didn't allow access to this function, so it might be the same on your vehice - I don't know.

Anyhow, if Expanded electronic differential lock is present in your Adaptation channel list, it will have allowable settings like “Standard" (default for mk7), “Not activated”, “Weak”, “Medium”, “Strong”

The mk7 tweak doesn't need a security access code - again not sure about your Skoda

Ill have a look next time I have access to a VCDS.

You would think its the same as VW, but yea will see I guess.

                              • Going to have a look at Diff settings today,
Anything else worth looking at for Performance?
I haven't found much in the way of coding for Performance gains that's all.
