Hainsey, that's a ridiculously good price. Admittedly, I didn't do any shopping around, but the price I got for a new car was $57,500 for white, dsg, leather, tint.

Reason: spelling
Yeah I was playing 3 dealerships off against eachother in Sydney, Brisbane and townsville and Brisbane was the best and was the better colour IMO, it got to the point where they started to throw extras in.
I figured if I saved some on a demo I didn't really care if it was 2014 build or not, turned out It is apr2014 build so was a really good deal in the grand scheme of things
Also helps if you have a big deposit, I had 25k once I sold the old car and my savings, dealers love getting cash in hand
2014 Limestone Grey Mk7 Golf R
DSG, Leather, Drive assist.

Matty that seems like an unreal deal!
Did you place an order and have to wait for that car - or was it on its way already?
Yeah, I placed an order. Original delivery at the time of sale was approximately 23 Sept. Turns out they couldn't secure the car they thought they could, which was disappointing. New delivery date is around 3 Nov.
3 kids, 7,5 and 2. One child seat, one booster, 7 year old in between. Even with golf clubs in boot plenty of room for school bags on school run. If you need to use a pram/ capsule for a young baby it can get tight as most these days tend to be huge. Rear facing capsules can limit front seat leg room. In other words, as a second car for trips around town it's fine. Wouldn't choose it if we ran only one car.
By the way the kids all go "weeeeeee" when you floor it!

Thanks Paul, 3 kids wow.
That's gives me confidence then. I have two and the Youngest doesn't use pram anymore. Do use use for weekends away?
Nice work Paul Mine 2 kids similarly whoop when we hit WOT!
Bruster, I will be buying roof racks (Whisperbar) to go with my existing Thule Luggage Pod which will be handy for weekends away to snow/beach when we are loaded up. I'm also a keen cyclist so bikes carriers x 2 will go on the racks as well. I'm giving up a company car Passat Alltrack wagon soon and making do with one car for 12 months (apart from an old bomb corolla for the local shopping run) so I'm hoping the R is up to the challenge!

My 9 year old makes growling gear change high rev sounds, perhaps I should tone down my driving a bit with him in the car
He asks me why no other cars sound like mine LOL.
