Has anyone had any success with Barloworld Botany (NSW) ?
Called up today and asked if it was warranty job.
The guy told me to contact VW Australia - even after I told him the TPI ?
VW Australia thought that it was a dealership issue since a TPI was available

The staff there were referring to it as the 'wastegate rattle' when I was booking my car in. I reckon your best bet is to take it in there and get their mechanics to have a listen to the sound. That's what I did and it's booked in for the end of the month. Hope this helps.

It'll get even more interesting - i'm about to head to Barloworld Mascot and to see if they'll do it.

just heading home from Barloworld.
As i was about to take the mechanic for a test drive, i was explaining the issue.
He knew right away what i was on about, and said theyve the part on order, with about a two week lead time

As you can see from the date, was way back in September when i first took it to them - part arrived at the end of Oct, but I'm not slated to get it installed until the end of Nov - they were all booked out for a fitting until then (or early Dec if i want a loan car)

ohh thank god it's gone. Osborne Park fitted the clip today as part of the 15kkm service. Silence.

im booked in for the 25th at Barloworld, they are also going to redo the front driver's window tinting. managed to get a loan car too!

cant wait till that noise is gone funny though, the guys on the phone kept calling it the 'Turbo clip'

Mine was done today. Bummer is that you have to wait for the engine to cool so that they can touch it (apparently).

but, perhaps its placebo effect, but has anyone noticed more power? second gear chirps on not as hard WOT on a dsg....

Yes, it still affects new vehicles already in the country.
There's been know words about whether the clip is being fitting at the factory now or not.

Not yet, but mine will be due for it's first 15k service in the next month or so, so I'm going to call ahead tomorrow and try and find a dealership who can get the clip for me. Basically, first dealership in Brisbane who is accommodating gets the service and the fitting of the clip.
