VW Barloworld in Bayside are a joke. I've been waiting over 4 months for a clip from those guys, and the service manager just extends the due date of the part every time I email him.

Yeah they are pretty bad mate... they keep phucking me around as well with the arrival date & this is their phucking service manager!!! On that note I'm calling them again.. bunch of dix

My service manager just called and said the clip is in, so I will hopefully be booked in very soon to finally have this sorted.

Spoke to the service dept at barloworld glen waverley today and they confirmed some clips had arrived. It appears they only have enough for people who have had there vehicles checked prior to today as they checked my reco and stated "the clip assigned to my vehicle" was in stock. Booked in tomorrow to have it installed.

On a separate note after having such poor dealings with barloworld had my first service done by volkspower today and was a much more pleasant experience than dealing with barloworld.

This may be a stupid question, but why would some cars develop the noise and not others? The reason I ask is, I'm not sure if I've got it or not. I don't think I hear anything abnormal, but should I ask the dealer to check?

Yes its strange doc , nothing in mine and i believe yours is april build like me .

I have run it on 95 and 98 makes no diff , i have hammered it , still nothing .

Presume the RS is ok , same motor .

Just phoned Barloworld G.W......
Woot woot, booked in on Monday to have spring clip fitted.
Told they need approx 3 hrs, not long to fit clip but need the motor cooled down

Anyone else on here booked in for Monday at all?

Edit: this clip was reserved against my rego back in early Sept.

WOOHOOO!!!

Just picked my GTI up from barloworld Glen Waverley after having the clip fitted to the wastegate linkage.

ZERO rattle across all RPM, all gears, varying throttle positions, hope this reassures everyone that once the clip is fitted the problem is resolved.

They even washed and vacuumed the car, which was nice.

Looking forward to enjoying the car which is now back to the state when I bought it.

Cant wait till Monday now....ours had the rattle on day one, yet the demo we had for 5 hrs didn't appear to?
Hopefully this will be a brand new experience for me then....YES!

For anyone in Sydney, Barloworld Five Dock seemed to have received some clips. Just got a call from them and am booked in for the 18th for a fix.

Spoke to my local. My clip is in. Next week gets installed. About time. On another note I haven't had any whistling for a while now. Seems to have disappeared!!!!!!

Presume the RS is ok , same motor .

the vRS has the same issue, however skoda won't recognise/accept the issue, vw won't fix it because they think the RS has a different engine to the MK6 GTi!!
if only skoda & vw aus had a clue (technical knowledge) about the products they sell, and provide the appopriate support.

thankfully mine isn't anywhere near as loud as the GTis, according to the vw techo who did a test drive with me.

Got the call today from Paul Wakelings at Cambelltown (after i emailed them yesterday prompted by this forum after reading there were clips in stock in other Sydney dealerships) , im booked in to have the anti rattle fitted next Thursday !!!
