Have some patience guys.

They've a few hundred thousand cars which these engines in them. Now everyone is trying to get these clips at once. It's going to take some time, just deal.
I'm also told, they're not just steel but titanium... not sure if anyone who's actually got one can confirm that or not.

In any case, there is going to be short supplies for a while. Even when a shipment does arrive, they'll probably run out quick and you might have to wait to the next one.

I understand Corey, but for something that has been ignored for so long and finally acknowledged once a third party addressed and solved the issue.. its a bit poor on VW's behalf. Also when I went into Barloworld to get my name down, the guy was like 'oh yes the clip, we have no information on when it will be here, we placed an order a few weeks ago'. That's approx 2 months now since I went I think, also I had to request to have my name put down on the waiting list. Initially I got the feeling of.. we don't have it, now shoo :|

Oh and there's a few million people demanding the iPhone and they seem to bare reasonably well lol

Sorry I think VW A should be pro-active in chasing up owners who complained about the rattle (and had it verified by a dealer), rather than the owner having to now ask the dealer for it to be done. (yes I know it saves VW money this way).

The service staff when I first bought it up were indifferent, to the point of rudeness about the rattle and just rattled off the standard line about it being 'normal' and now I have to go through these people again for the clip (assuming they agree with the TPI)........ not looking forward to the experience.

If you reckon VW are shagging you around, this is nothing compared to what I went through when I wanted to buy an iPhone for my wife some months ago. I reckon Apple wrote the manual on how to stuff people around!

I think the most frustrating thing is the VWs attitude to the situation. Not once have a heard "sorry for the inconvenience", "we understand this is frustrating" or any sympathy from the employees at all. Even after i dropped my car off to have the clip installed, when i went to pick it up all i heard was the clip wasn't instock and they do it next time . My personal experience with VW staff are they are rude (even when I initially went to buy the car no sales person would give me the time of day) in the end I got a buyers advocate to do it, ignorant, for example dismissing the existence of the TPI, instead of saying "I'm unaware of that one, but I will look into it and call you back immediately". General customer service goes along way to easing a customers frustrations with issues such as this.

I think Barloworld must run a standard course, while the technician who road tested the car was good, their counter staff could all do with a course in customer relations.

Well i spoke to the tech guys, and they cant do anything.

They said its all politics higher up in the food chain. They agreed with everything i said. Basically skoda wants to be treated as a seperate entity. Yet they use VW in their advertising hmm . . .

They agree that the skoda should also get the clip under warranty but skoda wont warrant it. I think they'd rather the turbo be replaced at the turbo manufacturers cost rather then skoda paying up 90bucks a clip.

In the end it comes down to customer satisfaction, and it clearly isnt there in this matter, I expressed that there is alot of customers who are tired of being mistreated and that this will drive them to different manufaturers. They agree.

Hopefully the people further up eventually do something. Sad really

New ETA from my dealer is that the clips should arrive in one week. I want my dang clip.

I just called mine yday about 7-8wks after taking the car in, and they still dont have an ETA time for the clips to come in.
Gotta love "service" centres.

6 weeks ago, I was told it will be fixed this coming Monday.
Was so looking forward to it and even took Monday off from work just to repair this annoying rattling.

However, received a call 5 mins ago saying the clip will not arrive in time and there is no ETA for the clip.
Conclusion = disappointed, frustrated and a day of annual leave wasted.

Yes I am still waiting too! Was supposed to get call from dealer around 20th last month. I hadn't heard from them by last week so I called them and they don't know when clips re arriving. VW really need to get their act together on fixing all these niggles! Surely, anyone would think the Tsunami was in Germany not over in Japan affecting their manufacturers. So simple yet such delays!! It's getting frustrating as I am also waiting for my second water pump too.

It's a guy that I train at the gym with. He is a senior within the service division. Maybe he's not aware of the hold up. I might be in for a surprise also.
