Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.     Barloworld Glen Waverley. They may have been feeding me the line about another fix being developed to save the embarrasment of having me pre-booked for over a month, driving away in a loan car and not having any parts in stock to do the job (they'd probably fitted my clip to someone else's car in the meantime...). The rattle is really driving me nuts now!

        just heading home from Barloworld.
        As i was about to take the mechanic for a test drive, i was explaining the issue.
        He knew right away what i was on about, and said theyve the part on order, with about a two week lead time

        didnt even need a test drive

          Barloworld GW better come to the party..

          They promised me a call to have me come in for my RH drivers window to be re-tinted as I found marks/scratches on the tinting that was done at the dealership on delivery. Yet to hear from them on this too..

            Hi guys,
            Just got off the phone from Barloworld service Dept regarding the spring clip.
            They have told me they are still waiting for the clips, still no ETA.
            I was put on hold whilst service guy checked with spare parts and he said he has no knowledge of any other fix
            and they are still just waiting for their order to arrive?

            Victim, did you have your car booked in to have anything else done as well?
            Just seems very odd that they would send you off in a loan car without knowing the job you have booked in
            didn't have the part, they would surely have checked this before you drove off?

              my dad's one has had this since he took delivery (back in july). I'll give Mascot a call, tee up an appointment. Does anyone know how to track the VIN of a car? (the GTI's in sydney and i'm in canberra, would be nice to know just in case they ask me over phone today)

                They did ask me for my vin number over the phone.
                No test drive was required for me.
                Easiest way is to ask your Dad to look in the front cover of his service book and read the vin out to you.
                Maybe ask him for his rego too, just in case

                    I have my GTI booked in for this coming Thursday at Barloworld Glen Waverley. Heres hoping the clips arrive by then!

                    Ill be giving them a call on Tuesday and Wednesday to make sure stock has arrived.

                      My Car was booked in only for this issue, over 4 weeks earlier. I had to re-arrange my day to be available for drop-off and pick-up, and was baffled that they could make such a stupid mistake. Sure, I got to drive around Melbourne all day in a brand new Tiguan that was provided with a full tank of fuel, and my car was cleaned inside and out prior to pick up, but I would've assumed they'd have realised that the part was not in stock and cancelled the booking beforehand.

                      I'm convinced now that the clip fix is not under review, they are simply still on back-order, and they made this story up so as not to appear incompetent.

                        Hope their workmanship is better than their story telling

                        So, the wait continues......Polo GTI, spring clip....Polo GTI, spring clip...which one will arrive first???

                              Don't know miilos. They didn't mention not being in stock when I dropped it off but I am getting a subframe/front suspension rattle and a faulty door handle fixed at the same time. I'll let you know when I pick it up.
