You need to push it with them! Otherwise if they think they can avoid he fix they will. And perhaps some of them are not completely up to speed with fix.

Berwick VW confirmed they ordered the part for me yesterday.

I took delivery of my GTi (MY12) last week, and noticed this rattle straight away.

Called my dealer, they are aware of the issue and the fix, and asked me to take the car in later this week for a test drive with one of the technicians there. They were surprised that I hear it in a MY12 - they thought the problem should have been fixed at the factory before the MY12 model run started.

Has anyone else experienced this rattle in a MY12 Golf GTi?

Went into Barloworld Glen Waverly on Saturday. All I said to the service guys was I've got a rattle to report, didn't manage to go any further until one of the guys started laughing and said 'ahh yes the rattle' lol. Apparently they have ordered a bucket load of the clips and Germany still hasn't given them an ETA for arrival. I've been booked for one and will get a call once they arrive.

I also went in to Barloworld On Sat because the lady I spoke to over the phone wanted me to demostrate the rattle first. But the service rep on the day knew what I was talking about and didn't need to listen to it. Just waiting for the part to arrive now.

Yep, my wastegate rattle started at around 200kms. To be honest it doesn't bother me that much. The creaking and clicking doors (presumably the door rubbers) is far more annoying. I've also got a rattle behind the glovebox at around 1200rpm which the dealer is going to look at. If all I could hear was the wastegate rattle, I'd be very happy.

MY12 only 400Km (not sure is it coming with famous clip or not)

There is a noise but not so noticeable (only 400km and I am not pushing hard) like on MY10 model ...also there are some indications, in German Scirocco forums, that even after installing that clip rattle (significantly reduced) is still there - under certain condition (or is it product of owners imagination?)

Well mine is april 2011 build done 2000k still no rattle , tried all the suggestions near walls etc , nothing , deaf aid might be faulty .
Only noise i notice is when i hit 4500rpm plus a beautifull jet like whoosh from the turbo as i power on out of corners on B roads .

is this rattle only for the MK6 GTI with the EA888 engine? Or is it common on the older EA113 TFSI engine for MK5 GTI/MK6 Golf R's? And how loud is the rattle?

Thanks man but I guess I might give it a miss. I got an impression from CCC that they wanted to take care of their customers first as the young tech I finally got to talk to said there are only 50 clips coming into the country at the moment and his two friends with GTIs love the noise - he told me to call back after October as by then plenty should be available. That led me to talk to my dealership and all this plus other little things which I will be observing for a bit.

Good to hear.. so looks like everyone is getting theirs fixed soon or at least looked at for ordering a clip. Sounds like a quick job too. Let us know how you go.

Went into my local service center armed with the Info from here and they have ordered the part and will be fixing it under warranty, even though originally saying that it wasn't a warranty issue and the rattle was deemed "Part of normal operation"
