MK6 GTI - Rattle upon acceleration - Resolved via TPI: 2021062/7
I'm taking the service manager at Osborne Park VW for a drive after work today for him to hear the rattle. He would have happily ordered the part for me after we emailed i think, very helpful. Under warranty! All good, looks like our fix is in place
Booked mine in at Paul Wakeling (Campbelltown - NSW) Reply from customer service: 'We currently do not have this part in stock and it is on back order from Germany, however we will need to inspect the car first for warranty purposes before we go ahead and order the part.
Do you want me to keep your booking for Thursday ?
I look forward to your reply.
Many Thanks

Osborne Park VW have confirmed the rattle and ordered the clip for me on warranty. In about three weeks it will arrive and ill drop the car in to have it fitted. I'm going to get her tinted on the same day... woo!
The service manager confirmed that they did fit the clip a while back for another client- not under warranty. It definitely solves the rattle.

Thanks to everyone who has provided information, researched this issue, and especially those who have spent time visiting dealers and those dealers who took it on themselves to get in the parts and test the fix even before VGA acknowledged it. Cheers.

Happy to report I am getting this fixed under warranty at VW on the gold coast. I just quoted the transaction number and the part number to the service manager and is getting done tomorrow. Thanks for everyone who made this happen !! It's been my main problem with the car since I bought it.
Just thought I would share my experience in having the clip fitted to my 2010 GTI as I have been following this thread for a year and a half now... and for me it has come to an end!
Firstly, Corey_R and my local VW dealer deserve a big thanks! Corey had made arrangements behind the scenes with Gerald Slaven VW in Canberra to take a proactive course of action and test the clip out on my car with a view to supporting the fix becoming a standard warranty item. It looks like this has progressed somewhat since but the effort should be appreciated by all.
The dealership ordered in the clip, fitted it to my car and waived all costs through warranty. I hope that for us Canberra owners that it will be fixes all round in the near future.
As for the clip itself, all I can say is that it works exactly as advertised and that if the rattle annoys you, do not hesitate to get it fitted. I am a person who really notices these things and the rattle had bugged me since day one, considering it is really loud outside the car as well it greatly detracted from the quality feel of the car. The clip has resolved the rattle and I couldn't be happier.

Ive currently got a clip on order for a skoda, so maybe they will take notice. Skoda head office is VGA, so im sure they are aware this is also going to be an issue on the skoda.
I spoke with my dealer and they were not aware of the VWA fix. They have spoken to Skoda Australia who will look into it, but he said that Skoda had not heard of it.
He did say however that until Skoda give authorisation they (the dealer) would advise against fitting it (even if I buy it), as it could void the warranty. Fingers crossed Skoda comes to the party.
