Yeah, I didn't even drive the courtesy car that much when I last had my car looked at - plus I had to pay them for petrol. You should be asking for compensation.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I sat in a Scirocco yesterday. Woeful rear visibility, seats are worse than a GTIs (clearly designed for the larger folk out there) and the interior finish is different, and only for the worse (mirror adjustments sit in a strange place a look messy for eg).
Having bought a 3 door manual R, I certainly don't feel ripped off when I look at the price of a Scirocco (which is what those meatheads at Top Gear Australia magazine suggested in their last edition). Mind you, I have never rolled a 1M on the way to a track session either, so I guess I shouldn't care too much for their opinion. Biggest waste of a magazine subscription ever.2011 R Manual 3dr Rising Blue

the Sirocco is built alongside the EOS in Portugal and hence the same parts bin for the interior. Its exactly the same as an EOS.
I prefer the Golf thank you very much.
Classier instrument layout, cup holders (don't forget the bottle opener), air vents (silver accents rather than piano finish black), & too much piano black on the HVAC/Sat Nav area, seats, rear view of only 2 x square hollow headrests, no leather & no big door pockets for the 600ml coke etc...& finally its a German car but made in Portugal. If I buy German I want it made by Germans not Portugese. Whats the work ethic like in that country compared to Germany? I would imagine it would be quite different.
Each to their own but I reckon they have it spot on with the interior of the Golf.Golf R, Grey, Leather, DSG, 3 dr, ACC, 19's, Satnav, Dynaudio, Sunroof, RVC, Bluetooth

Indeed, that's what initially attracted me to the Mk6, when I saw a website ad for the new GTI. Looked great until I found out how much they cost. I assumed the cheaper Golf's would be horrible or boring in comparison but when I saw the Comfortline and Twincharged engine specs (and how easy it was to upgrade to make it more GTI-ish) I was sold... well, looking for second hand ones anyway.
