Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I hade mine in gunmetal and it looked ace.
These were only available on the R36 and US R32 from memory as ours came with the Zolder wheel.

I often straighten the knob and use the steering controls to adjust the volume.
I'm not OCD I promise!

Made an observation today, that may be a known to others (esp DSG drivers) but not to me (manual Golf R). When you are driving down the F3(now M1) and some moron decides to sit inches from your rear bumper despite being in a 3 car queue cruising over the limit slowly trying to overtake, don't brake while you still have your foot on the throttle, the car shuts down the engine power and (I didn't wait long enough to test further) the only way to get power back again is to take your foot off the throttle and put it back on...
The inches turned into cms when all I was trying to do was give the moron a brake light warning.
I did briefly test again in a clear section just to see if I wasn't going silly, and definitely despite taking your foot back off the brake pedal, the engine RPM keeps dropping until you take your foot off the throttle and put it back on...very strange!Last edited by tonymy01; 14-10-2013, 01:45 PM.---

^ no left foot braking baby. So annoying......and dangerous. Apparently it can be removed via tuning.

Safety feature - think along the lines of that Ford that was stuck on cruise control on the freeway a few years back, and another similar incident in the USA.
Plus that means old people can't drive around with their brakelights on constantly
