Hi mateOriginally posted by SilvrFoxX View PostCongrats , so you should be convinced an RB R was Great investment
it was the most logical investment for me because i wanted:
1. Something fast
2. Quality build inside and out
3. Fit two growing kids
4. Good for daily AND spirited driving
5. Came in a Rising Blue colour (as I'm sure you'll agree with me)
Nothing else came close to the R, apart from a GTI???

Maybe I should contribute with my R observation:
When you're at a set of lights and a Camry pulls up next to you and looks like he's about to take off the moment the light turns green so that he can cut you off a merging lane?
It's ok to let him have a 50m advantage before you cane it and zip past him. A quick thumbs up to him out the window as well just to make sure he gets the point.

I thought I was the only guy that found this annoying.Originally posted by amberzombie View PostI'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, and it isn't an R-specific observation:
It annoys me greatly that the power/volume button on my RCD510 has the power logo fixed to the know and so when you turn the volume knob the logo turns with it.
I often straighten the knob and use the steering controls to adjust the volume.
I'm not OCD I promise!Daniel

I DO THIS TOO! The problem with that is once you've turned the ignition off the steering wheel buttons don't work? What's with that??Originally posted by drad81 View PostI thought I was the only guy that found this annoying.

On another topic, from what I've read everyone seems to reckon that a Stage 1 tune is a must on the R?
being a second hand car, there are a couple of things I need to spend money on to get it to where I'm fully satisfied with it, including the following:
1. New plates
2. Opti-coat
3. Stage 1 tune
4. New tyres (and rims too)
Opti-coat has already been booked, but I only have budget for either a tune or new tyres next.
I'm leaning towards new tyres just because the rear left has a nail in it and it can't be repaired because of bubbles in the sidewall (previous owner was running 25psi all round WTF??!?!)
Thoughts anyone?Last edited by amberzombie; 11-09-2013, 09:57 PM.

Tyres. Bubbles in the sidewall will go wrong at the worst possible time.
Why not look for some 2nd hand rims & tyres - there are some great bargains out there - esp in 18".carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic
I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

I'm weighing up my options. I'm also not pushing my car as much until i get it sorted which is killing me!Originally posted by brad View PostTyres. Bubbles in the sidewall will go wrong at the worst possible time.

other option is to keep cost low and just replace the rear two tyres and move them to the front so that i can get nice new front tyres.
Although the thought of the MKV R32 rims spray painted in gunmetal grey on a MKVI R does appeal to me
