Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Proper supercars would struggle to stay with it in a straight line.
Ahh... I knew you R guys are a smart bunch. I have a 33 with tiny mods and it lays down 296 at the wheels. It's violent. But then I know a guy who can hit 100 in his Golf R in the low 4's, so not that far off possibly.

I keep reading this thread and almost regret cancelling my order after waiting for 10 long months for it to arrive.... almost.

                  Prototype, so no.

Somewhat similar to a BMC drop in

Still on the hunt for a replacement engine cover mount - the spigot (used up the two I had). Stupid stupid idea VW

You are still a young un, well, compared to some of us

Agree that the R gets better with age. Would be such a disappointment having to pass up on a car you actually wanted

                    Ah well, compromises, huh

                      • 6.6 l/100 km on a 7 hour trip today

                        Measured the old fashioned way

Liberal use of boost. Mix of 110, 80 and town driving.
