Time seems it but hard to tell if the R is stock or not.

Have you tried Sebs online shop as he has a lot of stuff from ECS and others

    Euro Revolution - Euro Revolution

Yeah, was hoping to get the full kit, water pump etc and do everything.

Even if I sell it beforehand I'll chuck it in with the car.

Edit. The search didn't work for me this morning and nothing was found for water pump... All good now.

Where is the best place to source a timing belt kit for the Golf R?

Cihan has fitted one of these to his R also with 2867 and its does seem to come on a lot harder than my own with the same setup so yes I'll be fitting one of these soon too once we sort the tunes out completely. I can probably post up the torque split graphs from the dyno too.

I fitted a Gen 4 Competition Haldex controller to the R last night, and it has made a huge difference to the way the car accelerates. The brief lag I'd experienced previously seems to have gone (at least with the very limited testing I've done today) and the car definitely seems to handle with a little more rear-bias than before which is great.

I've put some more detailed notes over in the little build thread for my car (http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...ade-83678.html) but the short version is: if you're still running the stock Haldex controller, run out and buy the competition one immediately.

Re: Golf R Observations and Questions

    You should be excited....

My observation of the day , test a new commdore SSV and find out the R is a quicker and better drive. Though the interior of the new SV range is really nice

Damn thing cost $44 to replace. Better not lose another one!!

Mine was loose before my last service, and I pointed it out to them. They had to order a new one from Germany and fixed it out of goodwill!

Yes the garage door closed on the roof, I had a detailer buff it but there are still light surface scratches in the clear coat which drive me insane, though the vinyl has imperfections my OCD is learning to cope with. Few more sessions at therapy and I should be good to go

I paid more than that so that price is good, just check on warranty of the product both application and material there is some cheap stuff out there.

See if you can have it done indoors in a clean environment any dust is magnified about a hundred fold.

Also ask them how they trim the sides if they do it by eye ask to see examples, mine was done by pin striping and then cut in took them 2 afternoons to complete. Primarily because it was a wet application and had to dry overnight

IIRC there was an incident with a garage door. Poor SF... I could hear the cries of pain from Adelaide.

I reckon the gloss black is all class, and not at all rice. Could even be OEM. Ricing is adding 30-foot wings to the bootlid of your otherwise stock (Hello Kitty stickers excluded) Lancer.

BTW you have convinced me to get my roof done (been uuming ads arring over it for a while) in gloss black. Ive had two quotes for between $330-350. Is that similar to what you paid?
