Oh that was terrible, It could've been so much more enjoyable Why do these guys think they all need to copy Clarkson's style of presenting, if only that guy would keep quiet for a few moments so we could listen to luscious exhaust noises of the Seat! I much prefer the nice German speaking dude on the Autoweek Vid

Yes much better, too bad he couldn't reviw in English because he doesn't waffle on about garbage like the other lads do and you can actually hear the car and lots of nice interior and exterior shots...and its a 3 Door lol

Pretty sure he's Dutch and not German... The oranje t-shirt is a slight give away. BTW, I'm not Dutch or German.

Got 8.36L/100Km on a 290.9Km drive from Mascot in Sydney to Blue Mountains and back via Bells Line of Road and then Great Western Highway. Stuck in traffic on the way back so stop start but otherwise mostly 70-110km speeds going up and down the mountain.

Oh yeh, did the fuel calculation the old fashion way calculating the distance I drove to when I topped it to the brim at the petrol pump.

Had another test drive today now that the demo has ~4000kms on it. Feels much nicer! Still can't get enough of launch control hehe.

For anyone interested, Camberwell VW have a car in the showroom that had a sale fall through. It's united grey, 3dr, DSG, sat nav, leather and 19's. Def not ACC/Sunroof but not sure if there is anything else. It isn't being used for demos as they have a DSG and manual 5dr's for that purpose. Ask for Sonny if you're interested, he sorted my order out

I got updates from NADCON today. Handover to production is 04/09/10, handover to sales is 24/09/10. Boat is due to leave 12/10/10, arrive at destination port 22/11/10. So it's looking like an Xmas delivery if there are no further delays

Golf R exhausts

Hi all,

Im not sure if this has been covered off, I couldnt find any talk of it.. but.. does anyone know if there are any good aftermarket exhausts out there for the Golf R yet?

I know that APR are making one, but I havent seen/heard any videos of it.. nor have I found any exhausts from other makers..

When the R arrives, it will definately get the S1 APR tune, but I really want it to have a nice big grumble to it also.. if you know what I mean..

APR are making a (non-RSC) exhaust here in Australia. There won't be an RSC exhaust until there are some Golf R's in the USA. But since it's rumble you want, non-RSC is probably the way to go anyway. From what I know, the exhaust is complete, but there may still be some work to do to put it into "production".
I would say it won't be long before we have pictures / sound / video of it, and within 2 months from actually being able to purchase it (from comments around the place from Guy H).

I'm sure other manufacturers will have Golf R exhausts available at some stage - but since it's a lower volume car, and isn't yet in all countries, it always takes longer than the GTI stuff to come out.

ETA : Mid-December I was told.
