Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

      Yeah, no only is it a useless segment on a new car, they were too lazy to even film it properly. Not sure why neither them or Top Gear did a review on the car, although the 6 eps of the new TG season have been fairly average as well. Averaged a single car review in each hour episode. Maybe manufacturers are reluctant to give them cars these days cos they're too honest lol.

        Yeah i was surprised Top Gear didn't even give the R a mention and would of thought Fifth Gear would of done a proper review of the car as they seem to concentrate slightly less on the super car side of things. All in all pretty disappointing however the one episode of Top Gear with the Veyron, Diaz & Cruise & the Senna tribute was awesome.

            Bodgy editing to match a bodgy show. Would have just cut and paste it from something else but why not, the interior is almost identical (if anything the GTI's looks better so they probably should have re shot it).

              Does anyone know why TopGear hasn't done a review on the Golf R yet?
              I was really looking forward to seeing one like they did for the R32/GTI..

                probably wasnt out when they filmed the last series.
                I believe they are doing another 6 at the end of the year so might be then...

                  You can take diaz and cruise out, I'm not watching a car show to see 2 hollywood wankers blow sunshine up each others arse! They did a few other decent cars but really not enough. The show is just becoming as bad as Fifth Gear. Wouldn't be so bad if they spent as much time on car reviews as they did with celebrities in a korean ****box.

                    Golf R's spotted on the road

                    Hi all

                    Just a quick message, I saw two Golf R's on the road, on the same day. One white one and one in rising blue.

                    I have to say they both look awesome on the road, especially with the DRL's.

                    Personally I'd choose the rising blue one.

                        Everyone should get Blue, white isn't any good

                        Looks like there will be a heap of blue and white R's around.. people should wait for a few red ones to come in.

                              That's it! Encourage the Blue..everyone get blue....Don't need white being too popular now....although in Far North Queensland I haven't seen any...not even at the dealer

                                Lol... no need to encourage people not to buy white cars mate. White cars are far and away the highest selling "colour" in this country, followed by "shades of grey" (silvers, greys, titaniums etc). Even if no one bought white R's, you're still driving around amoungst what appears to be 50% white cars, lol
