Stereo Security Code

A question regarding the head unit in the R. I currently have the RCD 510 and am considering upgrading to the RNS 510 at some stage. Reading through the manual the RCD 510 is apparently security coded to the vehicle itself, so i'm guessing if i was to remove the unit but replace it back into my car at some stage it wouldn't require me to enter a security pin. However if i was to sell the RCD 510 a pin # would be required for it to work in another vehicle?

In other words should i of received the security pin # with my VW Manual or do you have to request the code from VW?

I decided to shell out and buy one of these "Sprint Boosters". Ordered Sunday out of Hong Kong, received it yesterday, and installed the sucker today......!

For those of you who were skeptical, don't be.
They do make a substantial difference to that natural fly by wire accelerator pedal lag on the R....

It changes significantly the pedal travel and response if that makes sense!

It has 3 modes... Stock, Moderate and Aggressive. Simply put, it eliminates the delay at the depression of the pedal.

Took Fabs lil beasty for a squirt today.. I'm ordering one of these, proof was in driving it for me as I was a bit of a skeptic... Awesome.. Even in D(drive), kicked down quicker, much less throttle travel and response.

Not to mention all the other mods... This car hammers.. Now I really know what it's capable of..

You've had stage 1 done right... knowing then what you know now, would you have skipped stage 1 and gone directly to stage 2+?

Yes and no lol.. Stage 1 was a pre Christmas compulsive buy with the discount etc.. I promised myself I would not go too crazy with the R as I had around 25k of mods on my last car. I also don't have the $$ laying around to go straight to stage 2+ and want to get some more kms on the car. But having said that Stage 2+ is very impressive.

I also don't have the $$ laying around to go straight to stage 2+ and want to get some more kms on the car. But having said that Stage 2+ is very impressive.

Hey REXman, honestly i believe its capable of a mid 12 given the right conditions.
Based on looking at other cars stats with similar 0-100 times and what they are achieving for the 1/4 mike sprint.

Man that's ****en awesome. The excitement for me has definitely built about owning this car.

See when I finally received my car and accepted coming over to the dark side, (after a vraxy wait) I was happy cause the car was solid (quality), and went well in the few hits I gave it around town, it had more options than I have ever had before as well. I was content.

But i thought i had sacrificed the performance side of motoring. Now that I have actually taken this thing to near limits, I really like it and am stoked with the choice. The AWD works a treat and when you learn HOW it kicks in, you can approach a given corner better so it catches you, the way the Haldex wants to.

This little bit more poke might just make me lose it.

FAB out of all the mods, which would you put as your top two to get? (if you can differentiate)

Sprintbooster (i know its a third but it deserves a guernsey)

Sure am, the car feels a lot more alive, mind you I've come out of a 320rwkw car (and Fabs would nail it over 1/4 mile)

Was a bit dissapointed the R came out detuned.. So bang for buck what's not to like about 240kw and 435nm :p
