I get some vibration in bumper to bumper traffic as well now that you mention it. Doesn't always happen though, and it's nothing compared to the jerks I've had previously. I wonder if Guy has anything thoughts on it.

I do feel as though the dsg is "fragile" with the shudder and know EXACTLY what you mean when you feel the dsg will last longer.
Take off from standstill can trigger a slight vibration. Creeping forward not so much (for now). Shudders from incline is noticeable as well.
It's strange as it only really happens after the engine has warmed up. Another instance is when you've been stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for say a 2minutes without moving. But either way the DSG tune is good fun, although I have noticed that fuel consumption may have increased a little - could just be my foot though

does anyone know whether I would have to 're-purchase' the DSG flash if say VW decide there is something wrong with the mechatronics & clutchpack and replace them both?

ah thanks, that's good to hear.

Doesn't really compare to sport mode, it compares more to you using manual mode all the time. Sport mode is changed as well to be more useful in traffic instead of only on a country road (similar to driving manual mode but more aggressively).

Golf 7 Speed DSG shudder / clutch issues

How do the shift points of the tune compare to say stock sport mode?

How does the tune compare to always driving around in stock manual mode?

So I got the DSG tune in today. Long story short, did it solve everything? not quite. Still a few very light vibrations on steepish inclines - but far far better than what it used to be. The way the shift points work now are so much better as many have said before. It really does transform the car from something that's 'not really paying attention' to a car that's much more 'aware' of the situation. Really slow bumper to bumper traffic doesn't suck anymore. I guess the damage done to my mechatronics/clutch packs may have been too severe for even this DSG tune to completely solve, but gosh does it solve most of it. From going to the dealer and trying to prove a problem, too having the problem only appear when it feels like - the money on the tune was worth it (yes expensive thats for sure!) For the first time in a long time am I confident that this car will actually last me for at least the next 10 years. Will it though? we shall see.

I'm not sure how many times I actually have to say this but once more seems the go

37G7 DOES NOTHING REGARDING THE DRIVABILITY OF THE VEHICLE

What it does is it updates the software that controlls the mechatronic unit of the DSG because a certain part number of the mechatronics unit was built and coded incorrectly which meant that the control valves did not fully seat when inoperative. This would lead to premature failure of the mechatronics unit (like mine) and require replacement. This becomes an issue when the vehicle is left idle and not operating for an extended period of time, i.e. sitting on a boat for 6+ weeks while making the journey to Australia from Bremerhaven.

If you are still having shuddering issues, it is more likely a faulty mechatronics unit causing the clutches to slip more than they should. They can test the function of the mechatronics valves using the VAS system, you can also do it yourself if you have VCDS but you will not know what the required specifications are for the valve operations.....

Cheers, but I meant the HP DSG tune, not the VW one. I actually got the 37G7 update a few days ago, which improved shuddering on take off, but actually made other shudders more prominent.

Sales rep said it was due to heat build up but then shouldn't I get the problem after most spirited drives?

oil temp. over / around 90C
