Sounds familiar. I thought I'll be too busy to think about it. I was indeed very busy but every spare moment was spent anticipating the delivery.
Our dealer lent isn't us a demo R overnight on Friday while we are waiting for ours. OMFG! LOL. The thing is insane. Took it for a nice drive through the hills. Amazing car. The dsg was nuts, I couldn't even feel the changes......im glad I got my manual though.
was it the black oneat gold coast vw?

Totally agree on the manual. Going off topic slightly for a moment, I umm'd and arr'd about the DSG for over a month because it was SO good. Decided on the manual, and glad I did looking back now...
Also got my car from gold coast VW but through a broker...
Collected my 2011 MY12 Golf GTI 5DR Manual in white around a week ago. No additional options added. Bit of a saga post delivery with some issues but it was all handled well in spite of my being _extremely_ annoyed.
I picked up my 2011 MY12 Golf GTI (5DR) Tornado Red, also in manual, yesterday and took it up for a gentle midnight run up to Palm Beach (NSW) in the rain with a grin and a few nods along the way.
Opted for the darkest legal tint (there's no other way?) and they were able to match up a beautiful dark black tint look all around the car without it having a funny mix of front/rear tint colours.
5 years ago I had dealt with Denlo Subaru, and this time around came back to deal with Denlo VW, as a returning customer back to the Denlo and Inchcape family, I am most pleased with their service and being able to turn around delivery within a week or so

It's unusual for a 5 door Golf GTI to already come with factory dark tint on the rear windows...
Got a phone call yesterday from the dealer to say my car has been allocated. Hoping to get it by 7/12
It's a 90TSi in Amaryllis red with the DSG gearbox.
Since it's leased and I want a towbar I had no choice but to get the factory one to get it included in the package. A bit exxy, but we'll be able to take our bikes on holidays.

I think they went through the Street Legal brand for tinting with a nice black all the way around. My ol Subaru had dark privacy rear windows so the tint never matched properly
Can't wait for the weekend for a trip down the Southern Highlands

So I took the day off today to go and pick up my black Golf GTI DSG optioned with ACC, RNS510, Sunroof, Roof Bar Set with 2 Bicycle Holders. When I was given a tour of the car I commented that it had 18" Detroits instead of the 17" Denvers—I'm going through novated lease and basically chose a car that was offered with the above options even though I had not planned on getting a sunroof.
The fleet rep said he would check the paperwork since he remembered that the car was offered as is. He then comes back to inform me that the Detroits were meant for another black GTI and that the RNS510 for my car had been installed in the other GTI instead. Naturally I wasn't happy since I would have to wait until next Tuesday or Wednesday to pick up the car.
This brings me to a question: Isn't the RNS510 a factory option? I had been under the impression that the all the options I had were factory options (naively thinking that the Detroits were also factory options) so I didn't bother to change anything. Now I'm reading that there should be an antennae for the sat nav since it is a factory option but you can also get is as aftermarket. Should I be worried/pissed off?
Would really appreciate any advice from you guys. Thanks in advance.
Yes the 510 is factory and if you have the sat nav you should have the roof fin.As for the wheels they are also factory but they seem tmix and match with dealer stock to make sales
If you have no roof fin I would be pissed
Current Ride: MY 16 Daytona Pearl Grey Audi S3- Performance Pack 1, Sunroof and Driver assist
You can get the RNS510 installed by the dealer (or even do it yourself), it just means that the GPS antenna needs to go into the dash instead of as a roof fin.
