Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    I'll be picking up my 5dr Carbon Steel GTI (DSG, Nav, cloth seats) this Wednesday from Osborne Park VW in Perth. Only a two week wait for me, as they had a perfect car still wrapped in plastic at the local warehouse. Fresh off the boat!

    So far i commend the dealership for giving me a fairly decent price, a trade in value slightly above RedBook maximum on my Subaru, and a finance rate much lower than the banks. I had to kick up a bit of a stink to get them to mail through the vehicles VIN early so i could arrange insurance on time, but that's a small complaint.

    The most important thing to me? This was the only dealership that treated me (20) seriously. Sure enough, i bought the car a month after test driving it. Never judge a customer at first glance...

    The RNS510 is on order and being fitted by the dealer on arrival. Will be scrounging the forums for info on judging a well-coded install.

    Wednesday can't come fast enough!

        I get to pickup my new R (Grey, Leather, DSG, ACC, 19" Black, BT & MDI) on Friday afternoon. It was in stock and with the colour and options I wanted - can't complain with that. I'm like a 10 year old on xmas eve.

            I just put a deposit down on a Candy White, 5dr, leather clad, DSG equipped, 19" black rimmed .:R.

            I had to go a long way for it, but it's in stock and will be delivered next week/week after.

              Picked up my new 3dr DSG Golf GTI on Tuesday and am lost for words. Wow!!!! What more can be said other than why didn't I get one of these years ago??

                      Finally after nearly 9 months my Golf R will be ready for collection on Thursday.

                            People think I am mad when I tell them how long I have been waiting. 9 months for a Golf they say....
                            But they don't understand what an R is.
                            Long long wait, but I am sure it's going to be well worth the wait. This time next week I will have long forgotten about the wait, and the price!!

                              ya, when u made the decision, u know what will coming to u. It doesn't matter the time frame when the dealer hand it to u and u can start enjoy it like a child

                              btw, do u know your R belong to MY12 or MY11?

                                Built last week of April
                                No idea if 11 or 12
                                Can anyone advise me if I am getting the my11 or my12?
