Well I'll be damned.. just got a call from the sales rep and my car is expected to arrive mid May. He proffered the VIN and I now have visability **WOOT** Seems to have been loaded onto the TOREADOR at Bremerhaven on the 29th of March...

Car ordered, lucky to find my specs

I ordered my car only a few weeks ago. I was lucky to find one already allocated.

Build is complete and it is being loaded on ship this Friday as far as NADCON print outs.

I have Comm No. VIN No. and NADCON print outs of all specs and confirmed.

Spec:

5DR CW Golf GTI MY11 DSG 6
18" Detroits
Sunroof
Leather
MID
BT

Total under 52k on road.

Not sure if this is the best price around but it is the best I could find after some research and chasing around.

The closest I could get to a car with these specs and not too far away was around the 55/56k..

First thing I want to do is get a good window tint and probably tail lights done too.

Can't wait to get the car......

Finally got the call from the dealer today that my R has arrived at the dealership holding yard. Ordered in early December and have been told that car will be cleaned / rego'd / pre delivery checked and ready to pickup Friday.

I asked my salesman if he could take a picture of my car if he saw it in the holding yard......and behold here she is....

Cheers mate. Have always liked the United Grey (first noticed it on the Audi's) and the black lights go with the black grill / bumper inserts etc. So im very happy what i chose.......just need Friday to hurry up so that i can pick it up and take it for a spin.

Finally picked up my very first VW on Saturday.

She looked gorgeous in the show room. Big red 'congratulations' ribbon on my black TSI hatch.

The 2hr drive home was sweet...until I saw her in full sun and noticed a 3"x2" mark in the paint on the bonnet. Looks like an acid rain type of mark, but under the clear coat. Then I noticed another one, then I looked at the roof to find a small (while very small, still there) patch of crazed paint. NOT HAPPY! I am hoping that the strange marks will polish out. But it is the crazing that worries me most.

Looks like I am taking a trip back to the dealer!

Well I've had my R for 5 days now and definitely had no time to post pics here until now

I got it out of stock so the options weren't my choice but happy with them: DSG/MDI/Bluetooth/Leather/Reversing camera

I've had her opti-coated, now just have to get around to a tint for the front windows....
