But the car has the compliance plate in the boot right?
That's installed in Australia at the compliance centre. Volkswage Group Australia are also who places the orders with the factory etc. So there has to be record of this car by at least both of those companies.

Picked up... after two months wait and 10 days pre-delivery the car came without MDI or Bluetooth... they promise me it will be installed at the first service on May 1st. Is noone checking this stuff? Whats PD for? Anyway its a great drive, fun but very different from my last car. Happy to finally have it. Will snap some pics later and post them tonight.

I have had my Golf GTI on order since the 21st Feb, how long does it usually take before a confirmed build date is given? I keep calling the dealer and he seems to have no idea....

Way too early, if your delivery date is August you won't know anything for 3-4 months if they keep to the 6 month schedule. I ordered mine September last year with an ETA of March and I didn't really get a clear update until the beginning of March of it moving from dealer order to factory. I still don't have any other info at this point so I know it is hard but you dealer isn't going to be able to help as all he sees is an order been placed.

It took around 9 weeks to get 'Allocation of Production Plant' for my TSI. I didn't get a real indication of delivery timing (other than an educated guess from the dealer) until then.

Yeah, the GTI and the R seem to be very delayed.. 9 weeks would have been a wet dream come true..

Thanks for Reply's DRL and SilvrFoxX. Guess I have a very long wait, I traded my old car in, so the dealer had to take it then and there. No car to August is going to feel like an eternity.

I was given a revised eta about 1 month after ordering on feb 5. It was originally due 10th Aug now 2nd week in june. I found that out on 2nd march.

I will be asking for a Vin for mine in the next 2 weeks as it will need to be on a boat by the 15th apr to delivered by june.

Did you get a build date/week from dealer? Best wait till you have that and a VIN. After that, it should be pretty smooth.

I'm not really concerned with what is happening or not with your car. I disagree with your comment that everyone else should definitely have confirmed build weeks within 1 month - because there are dozens of members here who can vouch for the fact that it doesn't always happen like that.

If it has for you, then that's great - but other people shouldn't be stressed after a month if they don't have a build date....
