Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. Actually, where the hell is Berwick and can I get any form of public transport there?

    • It's just off the Monash freeway East of Dandenong (south).
And yes, there's a train station there. Based on how long it used to take me to get from Flinders St to Glen Waverly, I'd say it'd be about an hour train ride.

      • skybus to spencer st station and then take the pakenham line to berwick, prob take you around 2 hours from airport to dealership that way, or an hour in a taxi taking citylink and monash freeway

Nice work! I picked up my R from Berwick a few weeks back, nice bunch of guys there. They seem to have a few in stock there at the moment, there were at least 2 others on the forecourt.

          • Yeah Berwick had a car with exactly same specs as my order coming in four weeks. In the end I decided on a local car ready now. Berwick was very helpful over the phone.

Yeah, I'm pretty impressed with them. But, to be honest, apart from the big 2 Sydney dealers that share a name, but with one dealership located close to the airport the other in the Inner west, every dealer I spoke with was helpful.

But these guys have a very easy and straight foward process. Car hasn't arrived yet, but should be delivered in about 1 week, then prepared and then ready to go. All other R's have now been sold from what they told me.

Going to come back over the Monaro Highway rather than the Hume so should be a good running in period for it.

              Can't wait.

              • Ideo,
                sounds great.
I wanted to buy from them, they had a RB 3 door, dsg, MDI, sunroof, RVC coming in in 4 weeks, that was two weeks ago.
Exactly same as my order (except the rvc).
I was planning flying down, driving back via Sydneyy with a few nights at a mates place.
Would have been a great way to "meld" with the Beast.

Unfortunately Wifey preferred I wasnt away from our business for that long as we have set up a new sales division.
So i went with a local car that Austral had sitting out at their Eagle Farm holding yard.

Happy with the choice, but lament what could have been a great road trip.

Enjoy the drive Ideo, try to not do it too quickly and enjoy the car and sounds that wonderful engine makes.

                Dave.

P.S. I have to admit driving it with the windows down and stereo off just to listen to the sounds of the Donk.

                  • Wiils, quite often, we often go for a drive on sundays, and I like the SC.
Looking forward to doing david Low way from Marcoola to Noosa.
Also back way in from Pamona is an interesting drive.
I remember as a young wipper snapper driving in convoy with my mates heading to Lake Cootharabah with our sailing boats on trailers, driving with our lights off along that road, guided by the full moon light.
God, how stupid you are at 19?
Gees we did some stupid stuff.
I remember one easter on houseboats on the Noosa River, when we went through 43 cartons of beer and a couple of bottles of Jim Beam (12 guys).
We'd kill ourselves now if we tried to do that. (46 and a tad smarter now).

Besides much prefer a bottle of "Henschke- Hill of Grace" now.

bought a hobbie 16 'for the kids' a few years back and would take it up there for a burn.... talk about seat of your pants stuff. Buying a hobbie to teach the kids to sail is like buying a porsche to teach a kid to drive... big mistake but what an pisser we had almost killing ourselves.

So how about you me DreamensioN meet up for the A tour... landsborough, maleny, maybe down to woodford back to montville???

I'd love to be in that, lets sort a day.
My preference would be sunday mornings?
we could meet up somewhere around 7am and have breakfast somewhere on the trip, finish by late morning?

Hi Dreamy, not in the R yet, did Mt Tambourine last Sunday. What a dissapointment that was (the road not the car)
It has really deteriated since last time i was on it.

The Gap (where I grew up) to Wivenhoe via mt Glorious is the best driving road in Brisbane IMO.
Smooth surface, sweeping corners and fast switch backs, nice downhill straights.
Trying to keep up with the bikes can be a risky endeavour though.

Wrote off my first car on Mt Nebo one Friday night.

                            • Anyone bought a new interstate who is in NSW?

I've been told by the RTA that I need a blueslip for a brand new car. This strikes me as a load of bollocks. There is no mention of this in the registering a new car section of their website.

Anyone had any experience of this?

lets put it that way (drove car from VIC to SA but the same bollocks), I had to take my brand new car to SA inspection before I could register it... car was 1 day old (from the dealer)
