Mine arrived in Port Kembla at 7pm tonight on the Mignon. Ordered on 23rd November !!
Hopefully they can truck it up the hill quickly to stop this GTI-anxiety

I think I'm leading (or is that losing) the longest wait race... ordered October 31, expecting delivery in early June. *cries*

It just showed up on the AIS tracking site for me today.
I have to wait another 5 days till it arrives in Brisbane but it got pushed forward a day so i am not complaining.

Hope you get your new GTI quickly.
I heard of timeframes between 3-4 weeks depending on dealer fitted options.

Well i have my car, and i must say i love it!!!

One thing that has annoyed me though, they scratched my passenger window when they were taking the sticker off. They have ordered a new window and will install it next week. But god brand new car and already this happens!!

But i love it, and i cant hear the rattle, i thought i heard it when i drove away but it was very, very faint. Not hearing it anymore.

Ill post some picks on the weekend if i get a chance!

Not sure. I had "2010 build" written into my contract, and have a few options (as per my sig). Other than that, luck (or lack thereof) of the draw I guess. Fingers crossed it'll get through customs quickly, and I'm glad I have no dealer-fitted options specified - so they can clean it and hand it over STAT! I am incredibly over not having a car right now!

Yeah - if you specified 2010 build, then that would've delayed you by 2 months straight away!

Wow - March 12 is exceptional for a 2010 build. Considering the 3 weeks it takes once the car has landed, and the shipping time... it must've really been built in the 1st week of the year!

Wow, as Corey said, that's outstanding mate. At the time I placed the order I naively assumed that the dealer could order my car right away and have it queued for build early in the new year (especially as I didn't order that many options). I've since learned that the factory doesn't guarantee a build year when an order is placed, so I suspect my dealer was just being careful to ensure my car was built in 2010, as I had requested. Add the rest of the delays imposed by JIT manufacturing and strong demand in other markets, and and a week 10 build it became.

C'est la vie. I'm not complaining - there's nothing that can be done about the situation, and there's no question the car will be worth every day of waiting!

Anyone else who has a 2010 build checked their engine? I checked and my engine has a sticker on in stating a December 2009 buld. But in the boot it has the Janurary 2010 build.
I am not annoyed or pissed off in anyway that the engine is a 09 build as i understand they would have them already built and when a car is ordered they would just "grab one off the shelf" so to speak. Thats my opinion, could be wrong.

Just interested to see what year other's engine's are bult in.

Those with cars delivered before April, i'd be double checking that its a 2010 build if you asked for this.

First week of production is the second week of Feb. To get a car within 4-6 weeks of that is incredibly quick.

The engine is a December 2009 build and the build plate in the boot does say January 2010.

I don't really care about the engine being a 2009 build. It still goes like all crap!

Well my dealer did guarantee that the car was a 2010 build. I even saw the order form saying 3rd Week of January build.

Not too concerened anyway.
