Apologies if this has been covered before, but I wasn't going to look back through 186 pages of this thread . How are you guys finding out what week/day your build is? Is it through the dealer (ie: keep emailing/calling them)? Or is it via other means? I've been given an ETA arrival date (in the port I presume) of June 14 - but that's all the info I have.

Ordered in Nov 2010 and have been told delivery should hopefully be November 2011.
Nothing short of a disgrace.
Im over a barrel because there is no other car on the market that I am remotely interested in. The wait continues

how can you do it lol? did you look at the other dealers or something maybe some one can do it quicker with a bit less options or something?
1 year wait for the car... golf 7 should be pretty much here by then (not really but u never know)

Thanks Corey.... umm - at the risk of sounding stupid, I've looked through the first 10 pages of (this) thread, and couldn't find the info. I know about the info in the "How to track the car you've ordered" thread, but... I was more asking about how did people find out about build dates etc. Is it just a matter of hassling the dealer/getting on good terms with them? Or is it via another method?

A good dealer will keep you informed and manage your ETA expectations. Of course, some don't bother.

For your own sanity, go and hassle your salesperson to show you the Order ETA data screen and satisfy yourself.

OK, this is my last post in this thread, Promise Corey!
but even though i have had car for a whole 5 days, I still havent gotten over the initial "Wow, I LOVE THIS CAR"

Anyway took car for first mountain drive on Sunday.
In 35 deg heat.
Went perfectly, no probs with the heat.
Also as someone asked before mine was built November and is MY11.5.
Still has new car smell, hmmmmmmm

Guys, hang in there, this is the best car i have ever owned.
I have driven alot of Audi's and also some older ferrari's (dino, 456) and I find this more fun.
I have racked up 800 klm already. lol

Ask your dealer for a NADCON printout on your car. This gives all the current data they have about what has been ordered in Germany. My dealer is excellent as she checks it at least once a week and sends me a copy if anything changes.

So go get a good relationship with your dealer or just continually hassle them.

Yeah its a hard wait and I didn't even wait half the time alot of people have for their R. I have clocked up over 2000k since I got it late Jan and I still can't wipe the smile off my face. Have surprised a few dunnydore v8's and given a wrx a good run. Love sticking it up the SS ute owners too all within the speed limits of course The R is a great blend of performance and comfort and its def well worth the wait! Hang in there!

Mate thats sacrilege! I order you to go clock up some decent K's in the R right away hahaha Lol I have to go for a drive almost every day. Love it. For instance the other night around 11pm I went for a cruise with some classic 80s metal on just because I felt like it at the time lol! First night out where the ambient temp was relatively cool and the R just felt even more alive then!
