Just been told by Dermot @ Wangara VW (not literally of course) that I can expect delivery mid-December now ....
Have discussed waiting till Jan 2011 & getting it comp plated as 2011.

I placed my order and paid my deposit on the 23rd of June, I was told yesterday that my car is due to arrive in country on 24 November, with around 15 days after that to clear customs and allow for transport, dealer delivery etc.

Placed my order on the 2nd July and my car was taken from pre-ordered stock that the dealer already had in the system. Originally received a Vehicle Tracking Report that stated my car was to be handed over to production on the 4th September.

I have requested an up to date Tracking Report from the dealer so will see what the amended dates are when i receive it.

The long wait is finally over after many holdups with leases, job changes etc.

I finally get to pick up my new GTI at 4pm today and cannot wait.

Placed my order and paid deposit on June 16, and have been advised of week 38 production, arrival in country also around Nov 24 and early to mid Dec delivery! I'd actually like mine before the end of the year as I have a week off to have lots of fun with it then

Yes week 38 is next week. Mine is in that batch as well !

Mine was originally build week 38 before it was put back for some reason.

I believe it is now build week 40 but still waiting for my Tracking Report to confirm.

Well just had an update on Nadcon yesterday - I am locked in for week 38 build. Status now indicates "FrozenPeriod" which I am told means that there is no way that it can be bumped out of that build week. I have also been told that Docking point will be Melbourne and apparently that means an efficiency gain in compliance once they hit Oz. (Apparently if you have a car docking in Sydney, there can be a slight delay in compliance processing). Melb is apparently the "best" point to have your car dock. (Other that Perth if you live in WA !)

Hoping that all translates to a late Nov / Early Dec delivery to me.

i ordered mine aug 3 and received notification of a week 38 build also. was expecting early jan delivery, so a month or so earlier is a nice xmas bonus

I actually purchased my 103 TDI wagon on line! Got lucky with an order that had been rejected but was already on the water; merely had to swap silver for silver leaf; which now I have the car is by far the nicer colour anyway! Great experience - never purchased a car on-line before - saved ALL the haggling at various dealers and the car actually was delivered - with a full tank!

Wait time was a whole two weeks as the car arrived early too!

Yes Solitaire. Ordered early Aug like you. Looks like we both "jumped the Queue" by getting our names on vehicles that they ordered for their own Dealer stock back in January.

Hi Guys,

Just been in to see Dealer, and the good news is the finance is all approved!
The bad news is the expected delivery date is now out to March (2011 i think).
Contract was signed in early August.

Boy I'm really hanging out for it.
Sat in the showroom car for ten minutes before they had to pry me out.
