The official I have ordered/received my new MKVI thread
Tracking Report indicates a Port of Destination arrival as 24/11/10 which indicates early December for me now!
FYI Handover to production is 11 Sept and Exit Production plant is 6 Oct
I am really surprised that you've got that level of detail for a week 37 build. I have a screen print out of Nadcon (mine is week 3 and it's not showing any dates other than the week 38 build.
NADCON has many screens. Make sure it's the ETA Data Table that you request. If you request that screen, it won't be saying "week 37 build" as that's on a different screen.
Mine seems to arriving (we hopes..) around the same time the ETA Screendump shows arrival at final destination 29/11. So looking around week 1 or 2 of December for delivery.
Well just had an update on Nadcon yesterday - I am locked in for week 38 build. Status now indicates "FrozenPeriod" which I am told means that there is no way that it can be bumped out of that build week. I have also been told that Docking point will be Melbourne and apparently that means an efficiency gain in compliance once they hit Oz. (Apparently if you have a car docking in Sydney, there can be a slight delay in compliance processing). Melb is apparently the "best" point to have your car dock. (Other that Perth if you live in WA !)
Hoping that all translates to a late Nov / Early Dec delivery to me.

Great news mate, I also got this from my dealer, which means similar delivery to yours, maybe a few days earlier as the ship docks in Fremantle first
New Golf 103 TDI DSG Wagon arrived today. More impressed that I thought with build quality, engine-transmission, and interior package and glad to have added in the Sports Pack.

Congrats.
Hopefully mines comes in late dec. Hopefully around Christmas... That would be a nice present.
i didnt' want to make a new thread, but I think my query is along the lines anyway.
im looking to get the 118tsi in about 2.5 weeks time, but im worried about the waiting times (~4-5 months wait) after speaking to one of the sales guys back in July. didn't have enough funds back 2 months, but do now
anyway, when i was speaking to sales, he did a look up in his systems to see which cars they already had in the country and he ran off the couple that were in.
im not wanting to get alot of options, all i want really is sat-nav and park-assist (RVC would be bonus) and would prefer any other colour aside from black, but colour is not TOO big a deal.
when he went thorugh his systems, he told me there were a couple in the country (back then), that had sat-nav and park-assist (im assuming these options are popular?) and some other stuff.
but that was two months ago.
im worried at the moment as well, my parents (im 24, not 16 lol and paying for 95% of the car) are saying if there is a wait time of 4-5 months, i should have backups in mind (because of the long wait) and the peugeot 308 and Renault Megane were thrown up as options. to be honest, whilst i love the styling of the 308, i really would very much prefer the 118tsi and VW, so im in sort of a dilemma.
anyone who recently bought a MKVI 118tsi know how the situation is at the moment? any rough ideas? i can phone chatswood classic and ask, but i figured what's the point if im going to get it in 2.5 weeks anyway, alot can change in the time.
cheers! sorry if my post sounds pedantic, but im actually quite nervous and worried :S
MY11.5 118TSI - Reflex Silver Metallic, RNS-510, RVC + Park-Assist.
Delivered March 2011 and on the road
I'd prefer to wait 4 months and catch a bus than end up with either a Pug or a Renault.
No point worrying about something that is out of your control, give your dealer a call tomorrow and see what they actually have available.

My MkVI 118TSi, ordered 2 weeks ago, is currently on a boat heading to Sth Africa. It is due in Sydney on 5/10/2010. My car is manual with Sports Pack the only option. My sales guy told me there was another one like it on the boat, as well as others with different options.
My VW search started at Chatswood Classic along with a colleague who was purchasing a Touareg. It was not a pleasant experience.
Picked up 18/10/10: 2010 Golf 118TSi | United Grey | Sports Pack | 6spd Manual
Update: spoke to Fergus' contact and they advised I was also in a week 38 build - looks like we may score our cars late November/early December <fingers crossed>
