Hehe, you do love your VWs
When you order your car it seems so far away and a long time to wait, but once it's here and you have it, the time seems irrelevant. However, I see I am talking to the very converted.
Again, mate, enjoy.

I was originally planning on purchasing a 2nd hand one, but because VW is currently having a major spring sale on I ended up getting the brand new car for $41,235 drive-away. Should be in my possession in 6 days

Paid less than $40k driveway which I was very happy with. Intro (sort of)
Been on the forum for a while mostly posting in the MK1 section (which I sold today)
Incidentally I picked up my new MK6 today so I'll be posting here a lot more...
That takes my list of VW's to
MK4 Golf
MK6 Golf 118 TSi (first version in manual)
2012 Polo
MK6 Golf 118 TSi DSG (which I had to give back one month old because my new company doesn't use the same leasing partner as my old company)
MK1 Golf 2 door (which I drove around in the mean time and a bit of a project, was waiting for toyota 86 but have now given up due to the waiting time)
MK6 77TSI manual (the one I picked up today)
I was impressed with the minimal perceived difference in power between the 118 and the 77. On the test drive there were 4 in the car (including my 115kg 6"6 brother in law) yet the car didnt feel sluggish at any point. It's obviously not a rocket but has more pep than I want or need from my daily
currently we have the polo (for the missus) and the 77TSi for me to go to work in...
when/if the toyota 86 availability gets to a point where I can buy one and drive it home ill trade in the polo and give the missus the golf... we own both cars outright so not too worried about interest...
depreciation and stamp duty will be a bit annoying me but I prefer this way than to pay for a car and wait 9-12 months to drive it
I mainly post about mods/issues so dont expect too many with the new car but im sure ill be involved in a lot of the conversation nonetheless

My new GTI
Hi all,
took delivery of my new golf today. two questions would love input on.
1. after 100km coolant level has dropped below min at running temp. Im sure at the pickup it was above.
2. Manual on page 263/64 has about 1/5 of the page torn out.
would you mention to the delivery dealer? or wait a few days.

I'd call the dealer and ask them to order a replacement manual. They should also top up your coolant, or give you a bottle of the VW G12++ coolant concentrate.Originally posted by minke View Post2. Manual on page 263/64 has about 1/5 of the page torn out.2008 MkV Volkswagen Golf R32 DSG

Do you mind if I ask where this was? I know it was a couple of months ago, but any haggling techniques used?Originally posted by Bakks View PostOrdered a white MY13 5 door GTI with DSG, bluetooth, MDI, sunroof, detroits and reversing camera. They didn't want to talk about anything less that $42k with no options today!
