After 6 years of procrastination, I will finally own a Golf GTI.

Stock standard, Candy White, MY12, Manual, $38,990 Drive away. Pick it up next week... now I just have to sell my 370Z...
The dealer was telling me VWA have brought in a few extra manual MY12 cars, which is why there are a number of them for sale on Carsales.
I'm just glad I didn't have to wait the usual crappy 6-12 months, otherwise it could have been another 6 years of procrastination.

Congrats. Interested that you're getting rid of a 370z for a a Golf Gti? What's the motivation?

370Z... great and fast car to drive (but lacking that kick in the back you get from turbos), horrible car to 'live' with. As I only have and need one car, it was a nightmare trying to fit anything in the back.

Thanks. I haven't purchased a car yet and I'm considering a lot of options (86/BRZ, Golf Gti, Polo Gti, 2nd hand 370z) etc. I've got the luxury of time (2008 Lancer ES is about as exciting as your nanna's undies but very dependable). I think I'd run into the same issues as you withe 370z. Love the look and vital stats of it though.

I just received an email from my dealer about my MY/BY 2012 GTI. I have been given week 4 build date and ETA in Oz by mid April. Do you guys think that the car will arrive by April?
