Hey there, I've been browsing the forums for a while and finally bit the bullet and bought a Golf R. It's yet to be delivered as I need to sell my BMW 1 Series first, but here's a Photoshop of what it'll look like once I've had the wheels I want fitted and the windows tinted:

Picked up my MY12 Golf 90TSI DSG this morning, in United Grey. Couldn't be happier with it.

The DSG takes some getting used to. Coming from a manual, I feel much more confident and comfortable driving the car in sports mode. The combination of not knowing exactly what DSG will do + turbo power taking a second or two to kick in makes overtaking a bit interesting. I'm sure I'll get used to it though.

May not be until early next year. Car has two layers of FI's product on it now so that should work until then. Quite a few marks showed up but CBF dealing with them for now. Even spotted the odd bit of rail dust but we talking about 2-3 spots over the entire car - anal eh

I ran my dealer 2 days ago and found out since my Golf R still haven't been built (week 42) i was able to have to remove bluetooth and MDI option since it is standard now and ended up saving $1000.
So for those who have order it a good few months back and car has still not been built then you can call you dealer to update the price for these options.

Just signed some papers and put down a deposit for a Black MY12 Golf GTI 5dr Manual w/ leather, sunroof, and bi-xenons last Friday. Extremely stoked about the purchase, and can't wait to pick it up in a couple weeks time

My R is on the Tortugas too, mate. Arrives on Oct 24th if i'm not mistaken. Where did you order from?

That's quite possibly the wastegate actuator rod rattle issue which has a solution now. The dealer may not have the part in stock though....

thanks Corey, yeah, ive mentioned it all to the dealer, including part no., my guess is they wont fix it then, but as long as they acknowledge the problem, and order the part for next time, i'll be happy !!!

Just put a deposit down for a white 5dr GTI with DSG and sunroof for 43,250 drive away... he originally asked for 44,713 as his best price..

made the deal during my lunch break... so didn't really have much time to screw around...

is this a good deal, or should I have haggled a bit more.

In anycase I'm pretty excited
