Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

            • Picked it up today

Very happy and better than I expected

All a little overwhelming. A few things to ask the Dealer about but all minor

Revs highish at idle (1200), chewed through fuel on the way home, very very slight pull to the left (could just be the road camber)

Bloody amazing though. DSG is incredibly smooth compared to our GTI and surprisingly much better in D mode than the GTI and not as nutcase in S

Looking forward to detailing it and getting tint done.

              • Big congrats Candyman.. glad the wait is now over.. yeah I still love the DSG even though it has its quirks..1200 is usally what it idles at when you first turn it on and it is warming then it drops as soon as you put it into gear.. odd.

Don't let the D mode fool ya, once you get used to it or vice versa you will see what the real issue is.. it is not extreme just sometimes annoying

                • Thanks SF - you and others kept me sane on my relatively short wait.

The DSG is definitely far better than our GTI was in all respects.

Went up the driveway no problems !

Such a solid feeling car compared to our GTI. Night and day.

                  Cheers

That's quite possibly the wastegate actuator rod rattle issue which has a solution now. The dealer may not have the part in stock though....
