Tanks Mark! I could not have had a better purchase experience. I got there and said im ready to buy today, gave them the specs i wanted and told them to give me a good price. He came back with a first offer of $45.8K! - when i saw it i couldnt help but smile lol! I told him $45.5K and after going back to check we ended up shaking hands on the $45.5K.

The lowest i got with other dealers was $48 and $46.5 (with a lot talking and pushing on from my end though).

And now coming off the high of retail therapy and on to the long wait. Sigh. Don't you wish the months skip by quickly to Aug/Sep?

My wait is coming to an end in a couple of weeks time. Should have it end of Mar.

Yep its going to be a painfull 5-6 months Ah well it will be well worth while in the end!

Its good to see the 5-6 month delievery period seems to be consistent with the Golf GTI's at least Good luck with your GTI mate!

thats still a 6 month wait, are they doing deals on current 2010 stock that they "might" have on the floor?

i wasnt too fussed with the wait so it was ok for me in that respect. i didnt even ask on the MY10 stock as i was pretty keen on the car i wanted - although of the 4 dealers ive been to, all of them had 1 or 2 GTI's on hand, of which one would be a demo car.

thanks to milosh for the headsup from his contact. ill be calling them up tomorrow to see what they have avail in terms of gtis
anyway, i called up bill buckle, as ive been there a few times inquiring and test driving the polo gti, and asked about a red my09 gti demo (1800km). its got $41990 on it, ridiculous imo, no options, nothing. and they said they have a my10 black for $47k and a white 3dr man with mdi on the boat, due in 2months for $44k.
i lol and said, is that as good as it gets, and told them ill let them know, but ill definitely call around. i guess some people dont like selling cars. i fully understand that it was just a phone call, but they didnt seem at all interested nor did they call back in a hurry, in fact i left messages the previous days and they took til the late afternoon to get in contact with me as i was driving home from work.
either way, ill give the melb dealer a call.

When I was buying I called Bill Buckle, outlined what I was looking for. Never got a phone call back but DID get added to their spam list so now receive email updates on their 'great sale events' across all their vehicle lines. I reckon thats just rude.

Yes, RVC is available with the standard RCD510 (Non Sat Nav)

just an update, i called up milosh sales rep and they dont have any 3dr white man in stock, nor do they have any other colours instock. seems like its not a very popular combinations, 3dr manuals.
anyway, they do have a 3dr white man on a boat that has been assigned to their dealership and will arrive in about 6-8 weeks. i asked what options, he said tint, mdi. i said, excellent, thats me. whats the ballpark. he said $40k. but he needs to talk to the dealership as although its part of their company, its another state.
either way, ill be getting a call tomorrow,and undoubtedly putting money down asap.
if its $40k, then thats a little over 10% discount. ill be hitting up the rear cargo mat and the weathershields as well for $40k, plus busines rego
i was originally planning on getting near new, demo, 2nd hand, but the idiots out there selling their 5k km+ cars are wanting low $40s for them, why would i even bother when i can get a brand new for less.

anyway, another question. the wheel pcd is 5x112 +50. im looking at the bbs lm in most probably 19x8.5 +38. will this fit? running a 235/35/19 tyre. it wont be lowered initially, so im guessing it will be fine.

great price mate, told yah they were for business!! lucky that you will have it so soon also! with the wheels, i think stock offset on the 18" detroits is +51. im looking to go to a 18x8.5 wheel when i get the car and my research has gotten me to believe that you shouldnt go any lower than +45 on a 8.5" wide wheel. ill most probably be putting the 225 tyres from the detroits on to the new wheels and selling the factory wheels themselves.

The detroit rims r only 18x8 tho I thought. I will def go 8.5, but not sure if 19 is too big.
I want something nice with dish, the lm is a nice wheel, and I can't justify hre, dpe and iforge prices tho. Might look at oz racing, the super leggaro 3 is a nice rim also

If you dont lower you wont rub at all but if you do plan to then you'll need to run 225/35/19 tyres or 215/35/19 if you plan to go stupidly low.

On my car 235/35/19 et40 8.5" stock height = no rub

I'm not lowering at this stage as I have a ****ty driveway. If there r cheap coilovers fs at a later stage I might be tempted, but I assumed those would be the tyre sizings

Actually, they're 18x7.5"
The only 8" wide "stock" wheels are the 19x8" Talladegas on the R's.

In any case, this is not the place to be discussing aftermarket wheels. There is an entire subform dedicated to wheels and suspension...
