I can also take time for you to "learn" the car and how to drive it efficiently etc.
I have clocked 13,300km and I cover both highway & city. Currently I get an average of 6.8L/100km, but I overlap with peak hour most days! The best economy was around 6.5L/100km, if I did not travel during peak hour traffic.

It depends on how you drive them...

Agreed Rob_R... at the moment i only really look down to make sure i'm not empty yet. But i've only done 1600km, so i'm still in the ultra-enjoyment phase. Most of my trips are half highway, half city, so im either babying it in 6th at 100km/h or belting it through backstreets (usually in a hurry). I find that i get 8.2L/100km - 8.8L/100km almost every trip. If it's a city only trip where i belt it around a bit, then 13L/100km

Because I now have an app for this...

I've now hit 25,000km, though the last fill was prior to this.
    Min: 6.93L/100
Max: 10.36L/100 (the only time a fill has been over 10)
    Average: 8.64L/100
    Average distance per fill: 577.14km
    Max distance: 728.9km
Averaging 58km per day (it's about 25-26km each way for work)

That also includes 2 long trips, one from Sydney to Melbourne and the other from Sydney to Hervey Bay.

At my last fill I had covered 3,111 Km. My fuel consumption at each fill has been 11.0, 10.3, 10.2, (APR Stage 1 installed) 10.1, 9.9, 9.7, 9.8. 70% of my driving is on the freeway though. Also pleased that the trip computer is accurate (well occasionally only 0.1 more pessimistic than my spd sheet calculations)

lol, you've got to remove the velcro from under you go fast peddle. I don't really care what economy I get. If I did I wouldn't have bought the R. Would have bought a bean counter camry or something. lol

Yeah I filled up with 30km to go on the MFD the last time round, I thought that the average would be much worse considering I've been giving it some stick a good 60-70% of the time.

about 50 clicks off 3000ks on odo just filled up 778ks for 46 litres (combined urban highway 60% highway) getting better with more ks on clock. want the APR tune so will see how much worse it gets when i get it. but experiance with V8 holdens has taught me that a tune will yeild better economy than standard.

I've got BP Ultimate in there now, not babying it by any means except the necessary highway trips. Surprised its sitting in the 8's this early in, looks like I should be getting mid 600's no problem once I stop keeping the revs up at all times.

After 4 weeks of driving I've now done 3500 kms. 77TSI is a great car and fuel economy has really improved, this tank it will be getting close to 5.5l/per 100kms.

I'm primarily highway driving but I'm not driving like a grandma and I'm finding the engine more willing as it wears in and as Corey pointed out after a while you get the hang of the car, find the sweet spot for gear changes and alike which also helps
