Have a 118tsi running APR stage 1 and just ticked over 12 500km and averaging at present 8.8l\100
With a return of about 650km per tank with mostly city driving.

dayum is all I can say! The GTI just can't stop surprising me! Still breaking the car in and with a fresh tank of BP 98 Ultimate from Chatswood to Wiseman's Ferry, then back through Putty Road towards Singleton and back home puddling back into city traffic and still averaging 6.7/100km with a bit of slight spirited driving and handling on the twists. MFD was guestimating 770km to 820km for a total run

Campbelltown to Fairfield via the M5 and Cumberland Highway (30km trip) very late last night, no traffic, all green lights and staying at the speed limit - 4.4L/100km

Thanks - always nice to get more figures from different variants.

Kaanage - i emailed the guy at work who has the GTD. Here is his answer:

    Hi Lucas.

Mine has the DSG box. I'm averaging just on 6l/100km as combined city/highway travel. My standard trip is from here to Maitland which, while most is 4-lane highway, can still be fairly stop/start until at least Hexham. I've occassionally looked at the instant readout on the dash while cruising at 80-90km/h & it sits around 4.6 - 5.

I mostly go around 810 - 830km between refills & that's around 48 - 50 litres, but would get 900+ if I went from full to nearly empty. The other nice thing about diesel is that the price is consistent so you don't have to worry about the overnight 12-14 cent price rises.

I find that once the MFD shows range under 100km, the remaining range drops off far quicker than actual mileage which is a bit unnerving if you are in the country and pushing the range.

998.9km from my heavy Caddy - it'd be better if it wasn't for this dumb@ss DSG!

    Wow!

The best our TDi has managed is about 1080km on a tank in a country trip before I chickened out (measured fuel consumption about 5.1 l/100km)

I wish the variable rotor voltage alternator (and ECU support, of course) was fitted to all VWs and not just the Bluemotions - it would provide more power too.

    alternator drag.

Uses more fuel than a lot of people realise. In the BlueWhatever type cars every little bit helps.

Drove from Brisbane to Nambour and back yesterday and averaged 3.8L per 100km, the claimed consumption, which was nice for a brand spanker still being worn in.
