That's a great price.... nice work. Was this in stock? How long do you have to wait? Did you get fleet discount?

Car was in stock, no fleet discount. Got that price on a technicality, it had the paperwork done prior to June 30 by the dealer so they could sell it taking into account the VAG on roads rebate, hence my ability neg. the good price. They have two others in stock in 5 door and 1 three door, same spec level but no tint.

I'm also seeking to get corporate discount, however the rules have changed since Jan this year. Was hoping that being a member of the Australian Computer Society would be adequate, but they are now inactive on the fleet plan.

Keen to hear what others are doing in regards to corporate/fleet discount and/or anyone's experience with "PrivateFleet"

Please, please, please DO NOT go to Private Fleet! I made the mistake of going through them with my last car. I know of someone who is opening a case with Fair Trading because they refuse to refund his deposit. My advice would be to do your research thoroughly and deal directly with a dealer.

There’s no point in paying another salesman to talk to your VW salesman.

Bring the pricing calculator along when you order your car, on a laptop, iPad, whatever. It will give you a good idea of where you’re at when negotiating.. I tweaked the GTI one to reflect the car & accessories I was after..

Yes but I've found it better to negotiate privately, but by all means get them to quote so you can check the price you negotiated.

Been watching this space for the past few weeks and have a question I hope some of you could answer. Is it reasonable to expect the dealer to pick up on road costs for a GTI?

I ordered a Golf R with Bluetooth and MDI & premium Euro plates for $54300. Two weeks till delivery! woopi dooooo!!!

Same specs but with leather. No other options

MY12 so BT/MDI as standard

CW, 5 door, DSG, euro plates, etc

I order it in 4 months ago and ETA for delievery was Aug but now NOV. As for the price the biggest killer was the racing seats. Because by adding the seats in it went over 65k therefore i had to pay luxurious tax. Without the racing seats could of got it in the the low to mid 60s. Before any discount I was quoted $79k so ya it is expensive but it is as good as a Golf can get. At less before I start modding it. LOL

Oh i forgot to mention $72k does include the so call CARE pack with is a rip off but have signed the contract so too late now. lol

I see, sorry for heard about the delay. u made me worries about my R's ETA time now, coz they said it will arrival around Nov to DEC, I don't want it pull back any further. Ya, the Luxurious tax always kill our pocket. I really want getting racing seat as well, but it just out of my budget. btw, what color u getting? Let's keep in touch to see how's going on our delivery coz we are deal with same dealer. So u don't have VIN number yet, right? I believe once u get VIN from dealer, that's mean the car should virtually exist on the factory.

Is that drive-away price? I assume it's a manual 5-door? If you can achieve that without fleet discount that's excellent price.

well, i am planning to see if i can get a VIN number out of them at the end of this month.
If it still haven't enter production by the end of this month then i highly doubt it will be here by Nov.

I think if they will be here by Nov, u may get a highly possibility chance to get ur VIN around this Sep and give it 2 mth spend on the delivery from Germany. That's what salesman told me what i should expect if my car's situation.

I was told by the end of AUG for VIN latest for early NOV delivery. The lead time from entering production to landing here is usualy around 3 months. I will try to give them a call in 2 weeks and see if there are any update on my car...
