My car has arrived in melbourne last night and was dispatched from the ship at 21.40 hours.- Golf GTI MK6 DSG in silver.

Now got to wait until the 25th of January 2011 to pick it up in Adelaide, due to me being on a novated lease. its going to be a long christmas!! but i am sure it will be worth the wait.

Got a call from the dealer yesterday.

They have not yet received the car.

But apparently it will be ready for a mid to late pickup next week, week ending Friday 3rd of December!!!

Trouble is I don't yet have the finance papers processed through work. Hopefully I will get that done first thing Monday or Tuesday latest ... ready for pickup.

My car arrived on the 18th of November on the MORNING CAMILLA.

If it actually all happens next week that is not a bad turn around.

Hey mate I'm getting an R on a novated lease as well. Its due to land in MElb 31/12/2010. Whats the big delay to January 25 for? I hope mine doesn't take that length of time for delivery through the lease company. WIll def be hassling them as soon as it hits port. Have already worded them up on when it is due in Melbourne.

Cleaned out the carport for the new arrival over the weekend, don't think I spent that amount of time preparing for our first born homecoming. Is red carpet over the top? the video monitor wasn't nearly as difficult to install I thought it would be??
Received a call from the Dealer this morning asking if they could offer a quote for finance.

Well I am a bit confused. I went into my dealer at Parra on Saturday. My car has been in my dealers compound (arrived from Patricks end of last week) since Saturday and quite possibly even earlier (i only checked saturday). I got told i'd get a call today. Anyways, now that I have called them, I got told that it should be at least 7 working days??! When I asked "why so much longer", I got told they need to wash it and fit dealer accessories.. So I said "there are no dealer accessories".. lol

Im going nuts for this car whilst im on holidays and can actually enjoy it. I think the turning point was watching the boat footage for me.

Anyways any ideas why so long?!

I share your pain mate, people in ACT/NSW/QLD have got their car quicker and it was unloaded from the same boat!

Its another one of those too much info deals. If we just paid a deposit and waited for the call to say its ready to collect, we'd have saved ourselves a lot of headache hehe

The delay is because they will not let me release the car I currently have on novated lease until then. So I am stuck driving a holden sportwagon around for a few more weeks! The pain would never buy one again !

I believe it's another 7 days because of this "outsourced" pre-delivery that several of the dealers now have. The dealers that still do it themselves can rush out a car in a day or two if needed. The dealers that have outsourced can't. Rising costs/falling profit margins to be blamed unfortunately.

I'm glad that your car has at least arrived at the dealership/pre-delivery place. My car is still at Patricks! I spoke to Jadd today who said he'd call VGA and have them talk to Patricks to find what the hold up is. Apparently the Patricks site was having issues today and was producing errors when they'd query the detailed status page.

"SNAP" - mine is the same (colour & specs that you have listed) and i am in the same state. Pick mine up thurs or fri this week. Dealer is dking all their delivery stuff on my car today !

This wait is just killing me. The car is here in Sydney (arrived on the Morning Camilla), now just waiting for either Patricks to release the car, or for the dealer to fit the 'extras' - Bluetooth + Window Tinting. I really hope I get it before my fishing weekend @ Thredbo. What a nice drive that would be
