How to track the car you have ordered?

Yes, this was a direct printout from NADCON

Are people finding that most dealers are happy to provide a print out of an order from the NADCON system? I have asked my dealer a few times for this info (and the VIN no) but am yet to receive any info.

The few dealers in NSW / VIC I'd spoken to before placing our order had each said they would provide a printout once the order had been placed, as well as the VIN number so I could track it online.

My dealer did not want to provide me with VIN no the dealer avoided the question by saying "very soon here" when I asked about it... there must be a reason....but I see many ppl here have had theirs for a long time....

I've been tracking my gti which was due to dock in fremantle around the 25th may then onto melb around the 31st of this month but I've just checked the status and it says linear release melbourne on the 21st of may? Does this mean its already been to melbourne?

As far as I know, Liner Release just means they are expecting it to arrive. The Asian Dynasty has not been to Melb yet......

Hey hvc01, your production/delivery timeline looks almost the same as mine, but my contract date is 2weeks before yours. When did they provide you with a VIN? Because I didn't get mine until 2 weeks ago. From memory you mentioned that you got yours pretty early on. I asked them around early to mid April, but they kept saying they don't have a VIN yet. I reckon they have been screwing around with me.

Since the last printout of the NADCON system, some of the dates have changed. Everything has been pushed a week earlier and the arrival at port of shipment is now 10/06 (10 days earlier). To answer your question I got my VIN a few days after the car was built (it was built on the 21/04 and exited the production plant on the 23/04) with the dealer providing me with the VIN on that date.

The dealership who I am dealing with are more than happy to do so... the new car co-ordinator normally takes a screen shot and emails me the updates.

I wish my dealer was that responsive. I'll give the dealer another call this week and see if they can send it to me same day... After all, Pressing 'print screen' and attaching it to an email should not take too much effort when a customer is spending > $40k.

You can always head into the dealership and ask them to show you on the screen, and from there get them to email you.

Hi Hcvo1....thanks for the advice...I'll keep following up with the dealership and will try to drop in to see them later in the week.

It makes the whole purchasing experience that little bit more frustrating when you know other dealerships will go out of their way to give the info to you...its not like the its top secret!

Oh I had to chase them up in the initial stages, but now that you have your VIN there is no need for them, you can track your car on your own by using this website https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/

I have not contacted my dealership for over a month now cause I can track it myself...

Quick question: My dealer has told me the VIN is only processed after the car has been built. Can anyone confirm this from their own purchase/experience? Thanks
