Confirmed with dealer that due in 28/4 which was the origin Toreador due date, but is now 2 days later so I am 95.5555% sure mine is also on Toreador which hits Melbourne 30/4. Dealer assured my vehicle is on the water coming to Australia. It all fits. My vin is a 34% but a very low in other 4 digits.
My VIN is a 346... - still not showing up on the tracking site, despite plenty of cars with higher VINs in the 346 range showing. After going through the list, I only noticed two cars in the 346 range that are on the Toreador, and both of these are booked for Port Elizabeth (South Africa). All the rest in that range are on the Tombarra.
Fingers crossed mine's on the Toreador as well, and the list just hasn't been update yet. Otherwise...
My (2nd) tsi arrived today in Melbourne apparently, but the site won't show up on my Mac for some reason... will have to try again later. Anyone else have a Melbourne bound vw due on this ship?

Hey Adam, I just had a look and my VIN number is in the 346 range. I just checked the shipping site and my GTI has shown up as being on the vessel at Bremerhaven. The ship is called the Tombarra. ETA is 9/5/10.
I was driving behind a silver mk6 GTI with 18's in Richmond today. First one I've spotted matching my order. Checked the shipping site and my VIN is showing up too! looks like there will be quite a lot more on the road come mid May.
Just wondering how long does it usually take for the car to be loaded on to the boat? Mine was finished built on 11/3 so hopefully it's on a boat by now. However i haven't contacted my dealer yet to see if he has a VIN number for me. Shall contact him next week.

No wonder I couldn't see anything on the site. I am also using a Mac and I was wondering how others are able to track their car order... I should try it using a PC.

Seems the site doesn't like Safari - you can use Firefox to access it (even on a Mac).
Thanks guys, downloaded firefox for Mac, but the boat landed yesterday so (pardon the pun), I've missed the boat!
Arrived Melbourne yesterday.... anyone else got one due for delivery at Barloworld Glen Waverley in around 3 weeks? (Been told the 14th/15th, but salesman said it may be earlier).
This forum has proved very handy - always something to learn!

I was wondering at what point of time the Dealer is able to provide you with a VIN number as placing the order ?
My order was custom so I didn't get my VIN for about 2 months (they said I'd have it in about 2 weeks)
I basically emailed my dealer about once every week or two before I got the VIN out of them. When I did get it, the car had already been built. I believe you can't get the VIN until the car is built or is close to being built.
Dealer told me they do not get the information until during the build phase (at least a couple days after it has started), so by the time they tell us it is normally built and in the yard waiting to go to the ship or already at the port terminal.

I originally paid $31,400 for my Candy white 118 tsi manual with sports pack, mats and full tank. (with 'Corporate plus' discount - Vic Police Association).
That at the time was a great deal.... I got about 15% off.
Because I went straight back to the same salesman with my AAMI payout, I paid exactly the same price.... there was one on the boat that fit the description of what I had before, but it also had 2010 build, metallic paint and mdi.
Told him that if he did it for me at the same price I paid for the previous car (but without the mats... I took them from the hail damaged car), that I'd be more than happy to deal with him again and score him another 10 points on the survey.
Very very happy!!! (Mind you, the salesman gets a shudder when he sees me walk in. I make him deal hard for his money lol!)
