Vin number problems

i managed to get the vin number from the dealer and stuff, but now i am having another problem.. i cant track it on the WW site says record not found.. and my car is built already i know that much

i got a vin number but the site on the opening page doesnt track where the car is tells me no records found and my dealership told me my car is due in aruond 30th of may any help?

Hi Simz,

From some of the posts I have read, the car does not show up until a week or two after the ship has left Germany.

oh okai thanks alot. because mine wasn't exactly an order. the dealer told me the car was already on the way to australia, so there would be less wait time. it was dued to arrive on 31st of march, but now it is delayed till end of april to arrive so thats why i was wondering why it wouldn't show up

Probably because they sold it onto another person who offered more.
Then took one in your spec from another order for the next month.

have the same issue... not worried that much but still would be nice to make my wait easier

wouldn't worry too much. Mine took about 2-3 weeks to show up on the tracking site. It is now on its way and appears on the website.

Takes a while after it is built, just keep checking.

Mine only took 3 days to show up on the W&W site.

I found those cars made in South Africa (Mark 5's) took two weeks to get on the system. Those made in Germany seem to take only days.

So for those waiting an expect their car to be on the Toreador here is a live picture (it is there at 8:30 on 22/3/2010 and may not be if you look after tomorrow sometime) of it and some of the cars that are going to be loaded in the foreground. My guess is my GTI will be on it - or the next ship.
