How to track the car you have ordered?

Got informed from the dealer today the my GTI was completed on 11/03/10 and is now waiting to go on the boat.
Was wondering how long is takes for it to arrive? I've been quoted a delivery date of 23/04/10. Do you guys think it'll make that date?

Believe it highly unlikely unless they are flying it out. No ship has left Bremerhaven since the Torino on the 10/3/2010 that I can find and there are 3 ships leaving shortly with arrival in Port Kembla is 29/04/2010 at the earliest. Even if it was on the Torino a day before it was finished it still would only hit Pt Kembla on 24/4.

So ask the dealer what plane it is on.

I ordered my GTI a few weeks ago and spoke to the dealer this morning. They told me that the car is due to land on the the 24th of August and expect delivery sometime in the middle of September. At the moment they have a build date in June sometime but no VIN number. Just wondering if anyone else is waiting the same amount of time for their GTI?

Congratulations! Mk6 GTI, how can you be so patient when you know something that good is on its way?

I am afraid it might take longer than expected and might not get it till October... If it is an early march order and according to your vehicle mine should be here July?

Its hasnt been easy esp when i sold my car last november and have been carless since! hehe

Hopefully i have less than a month left before i have it!

At a guess if you ordered early March I would say you would get it it late August to mid september to be honest sometime..

I too have sold my car! The new owners are picking it up tomorrow I suppose good things come to people who wait... btw where did you get your GTI from?

Hey guys, any of you know if your cars were loaded on the Mignon or Talisman? im hoping mine got on one but I dont have a VIN yet, so not quite sure

Yeah mine is on the Talisman. The dealer initially told me it was the Torino, but got is wrong. Talisman is due in Bris on the 29/4. Getting closer now.

Dealer called me yesterday - confirmed mine is sitting at Terminal in Germany awaiting loading - April late arrival in WA. Checked WW website - looks like it would be on Toreador ETA 23/4.
Checked with a friend who works at WW - said that sounds correct and that mine must be on the "quick" service.

Looks like late April, early May is going to be an exciting time for many of us!
