Advice wanted: Tyre replacement options for Mk6 Golf
G'day folks,
I was hoping for some advice about replacement tyres for my 2010 Mk6 TDI Golf.
At the moment, I have factory-fitted Continental Conti-EcoContact 3's (195/65 R 15 91T) and have done 62,000km in them but I know they won't last much longer as they have about 3mm of tread all around.
I'm not a racey driver, but I do like to zip around quickly from A to B, and I like the road gripping and cornerning of the Conti's. They are a little noisy, but I've just put up with that over the past 4 years.
I have been pretty happy with the Conti's, but wondering if I should stick with Conti's (other types?) or if there are any other brands/models that you have found great?
Cheers for your thoughts and comments!2010 Golf 77TDI DSG MY11 + Comfort Pack

I went with the Sportcontact 5's, absolutely love them, so sticky, I'm looking at them for my FG XR6T as well.
I see they don't do them in your size, but they do a few others, I am sticking with continentals for sure.
These guys are local and will ship to your tyre shop local as well
MY11 GTI DSG - SII Bluefin, Empire Dump, Custom intake, Front strut brace
01 Pathfinder -Cat back, SAFC, Intake, Lift and Muddies
88 HR31 Coupe - lots
08 FG XR6T - 380hp

Conti Premium Contact2 will be slightly better than the Eco Contact.
Toyo Teo Plus might be similar in performace & a lot quieter. I bought a set for Dad's Accord Euro & he's happy - he's also 85 and drives like he's 100. They feel great in the brief drives I have of the car.
Goodyear excellance might be another option.
Keep in mind that the EcoContact is a low rolling resistance tyre so it's likely that anything with more grip may use a fraction more fuel.carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic

Just got 50000klm out of a set of Pirelli P zeros 225/40/18's. May have got perhaps 5000klm more but 2 were at the limit and Tyres and More had a deal on the Pilot Sport 3's. $234 a tyre fitted and balanced, which ends at the end of February.
New tyres feel great and the ride is much better so i think it was time. Pirellis felt good and never lost much grip even when I tried towards the end when I knew I was getting new tyres.
Car does turn sharper and obviously has more grip but P Zeros were still a good tyre. Wanted the Eagle F1s but best price I could get was $380 a tyre.

Big wheels, big problems? Help please.
Hi all.
ok I'll keep this short.
2012 mk6 TSI90 golf trendline
want to lower it 30mm eibach springs only.
the wheels I want are :
•|• Rotiform Wheels •|•
19x8.5
what offset do I want et35, et45??
will they fit?
I did this: Online Wheel and Tyre Fitment Calculator. Offset, Tyre Stretch and Speedo Error | Will They Fit
seems like I won't have an issue?
Who has experience in this?
thank youLast edited by DangerBouse; 17-04-2015, 09:48 PM.

I'm almost certain that ET35 won't fit on your car.
I think19x8.5 ET45 is going to be pushing it once you've dropped it, however take a look at the Mk6 Golf wheels thread here for general idea on sizes that others have put on their mk6: http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...ead-28107.html
