• Depulu wheels - somewhere in QLD. I saw there work on another machined finish wheel the other day - it was very good. About $200-250?

• Brisbane Mobile Alloy Wheel Repairs and Wheel Refurbishment, Alloy Action

Josh come to my office, fixed issues on 3 Satin black 19" wheels on a CX5. I forwarded his details to a colleague at work who also was very happy with his work, it was a A250 with AMG wheels.

Highly Recommended.

Fellow Perth detroit wheel owners (or any other machined rims), if you are as gutter/kerb rash prone as I am and would like to refurbish your wheels I suggest a visit to Alloy Magic. Speak to Lee.
Had mine done and they look brand new!

So I'm looking at these at the moment:

Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003
Toyo Proxes 4
Michelan Pilot Sport 3
Pirelli P Zero
Continental ContiSport Contact 5

I can get the Conti's and the Toyo's on 4 for 3 deals that I've seen, who knows for the others.

So what's good? Anyone seen any deals about in Melbourne?
I'll let you know on the RE003's. Just drove home (hour of fun..) with 4 brand newys fitted on 18 x 8 rims.
They felt great so far, I would not hesitate to say, the ride even was better. (stepped up from 17inch stock)...
My concern was that the ride quality would suffer going 17 to 18, but I think its great, maybe because the RE003's are a slightly softer compound. I had 002's on the 17's.

On a related note, what's the consensus with the old rims?
They are stock 17inch Denvers with 2 still fairly good tyres, 2 due for replacement.....
Do you guys tend to keep them for re-sale (car), or off load them?
I'm going to offer them to a mate, if he isn't interested I may sell them???

Just got one of my Detroits done here a month back- looks like brand new $180. I had Alloy Auction out but due the Detroit are a polished rim not painted. If you paint them it's noticeable.
Alloy Auction were great though when the guy came out he told me this, gave me Depulu number and left not charging anything

• Hi Stump
Just did the GTI with pilot sport 3 , very quiet and very sticky , replaced RE003 , good tyre but not as quiet , maybe loud at the end of their life , paid $250 each at Kmart 18 x 225 x 40 .
Also did the TT but went with conti contact 5 , again a good tyre , maybe not as quiet as pilot , hard to tell as the TT is a harder riding vehicle , paid $750 at bob jane got 4 for price of 3 , 17in x 225 x45 .

Good hunting

Agreed, the RE003's have been great, surprisingly comfy ride even compared to the 17's I was coming off. Very quiet too

Where's the "like" button gone?? Oh, yeah, forgot this isn't Facebook.
Man, totally agree...I really was expecting a slightly harsher ride, going from 17 to 18, shocked the hell outta me.

• Hi all,

Just replaced my Bridgestone Potenza RE050 (lasted 45000km) with Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003. Much cheaper tyre and got 4 for the price of 3 ($750 all up for 225/40 R18 ). So far love them- quieter than the RE050s and great in the dry. Yet to really have much wet weather with them. I was tossing up getting michelin pilot sport 3 or goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric. Both were more expensive.

Happy with my choice.

• Still on my PS3's and still plenty of grip. They have done 60000klms with a balance and rotation every 10000klms. Might just get 20000klms out of them still.

• Wheel, tyre & Offsetz

Hi im new here and don't have much knowledge on fitment and offsets but thought I'd ask you guys first. I found wheels that I'm thinking of buying in 17x8. They offer offset option from 15 to 42. (Koya SF02) Im after the flush look and also want the rims to poke out slightly out of the tyre. What tyre size would go well with these and also would it rub? Im on H&R sports springs at the moment.
If anyone has this setup or something similar to, how does it run? Does it rub?
Cheers
