Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Car looks good, any problems fitting tail lights, plug and play or VCDS coding needed?

Nope was dead easy to fit them, they are totally plug and play, no VCDS coding needed. The only thing you have to do is swap the fog/reverse lens which is a bit tricky as it involves cutting some plastic tabs on the back of the lights and re welding them. Think you could glue them as well. I havent done it yet.

There is someone on eBay who sells them pre-modified for RHD and will also tint them darker.

Thanks jazd, I have ordered the lights but haven't got them yet. I did the fog/reverse light thing to my OE lights and will do the same with the LEDs. Will let you know how it goes.

                    • Got APR Stage 2 done today.

Feels a little more responsive, a little noisier and a little quicker. Not as loud as I would have hoped, but I do have a modified Westfield to jump in on the weekends so I can't complain.

Time to get some sticky tyres on the GTI.

Thanks to Guy_H and James for the upgrades......

Haahahaha that sounds like something I would do! You should've snapped a pic of your plastic'd car

OT: I got the ****er bogged, only to be rescued by a three year old X-Trail -_-

Kara: "Keep going, keep going, keep going. Ok, now don't go any further or you'll get bogged."
*Alex lets the engine torque creep the car forward, only to get bogged in the process*
Kara: "I TOLD YOU TO STAY ON THE SEALED PART OF THE DRIVEWAY."
*Alex looks around to see the entire area covered in leaves, not being able to differentiate between pavement and grass*
Alex: "I could murder you out here and no one would ever find out."
