Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

      • Replaced rubber gromits for engine cover, thanks to Lucas from Eurospeed for his time and patience finding some for me as VW didn't, when no one wants to help Lucas is there!

Oh and ran at Sandown on Thursday with Fab and Dave

Track was damp and drenched throughout the day but when it was most dry I done a 1:35 followed by a few 36's, don't know if that's any good but it felt pretty decent.

Yeah an android app, didnt work on most runs and to be sure I also stop watched every lap when viewing all my footage Lol so wouldn't worry about including tenths of secconds When it was near stock I was running 1:40 - 1:44's

                            • Nice time mate! Sandown is alot of fun, love up the top!

My PB is 1.33.3 (easy to remember lol) but went in a mates race prep'd evo 6 and was doing 1.21's which was alot of fun but not good for a daily! (edit: he was driving)

I borrow a mates databox which runs GPS, was looking into the motorbike ones ($300) but dont want to hardwire one into the car

                              ************************************************** *

I installed a sprintbooster device to my throttle.

I purchased this device in mind of the CC found elsewhere, i understand how it works. The device has made the car more fun to drive. My driving style on public roads is not FOOT ON THE GAS type of bloke. I generally ease onto the the throttle and this is where the sprintbooster comes into play, it just picks up the momentum of the car quicker. If your a WOT style of driver this device is no benefit to you.

I tested this over 250km with a mixture of traffic and hills. Red mode has complimented the other mods i have done to the car and I would recommend to other members

picked the car up from VW after having the gear shifter & trim and sunroof trim replaced under warrenty. They also found a leak in the boot that now needs to go to the panel shop to be resprayed.
