The set of 4, full alignment, clean and damage warranty was about $1650. They were the cheapest around in Sydney I could find, I was going to go for tirerack to save about $400 but the service and free re-alignment and warranty made me spend that little bit more...the guys there surprised me, service was great (was served by Rohan).

It was yesterday...

Ground the s**** out of my front lip exiting a carpark because of some illegally parked idiot preventing me from exiting at an angle. I really don't like that sound of plastic and asphalt meeting. Leading edge is now looking bad enough to warrant replacing the lip, not helped by the previous owner using it to park by ear.

Pretty much smashed the base of my windscreen today by applying too much pressure on one spot. O'Brien's has quoted either $980 or around $500 depending on which windscreen my car needs.

Perhaps I should tell them I have a 2005 GTI and see if it's any cheaper?

I had an accident a few months ago where the whole front of the car was replaced ,Mud guards ,Bonnet,bumper and grill with headlights and driving lights , a few weeks ago i noticed that the paint on the bonnet had started to go motterly , but could only be noticed in the shade in sunlight it could not be seen,
I took it back to GIO assessment centre but under the bright lights it could not be seen ,so the GIO assessor agreed to come to me house and inspect the car,in the mean time i took photos of the paint and when he came he agreed that the paint was faulty and rang the repairer and informed him the car bonnet needed to be repainted ,

So i put it in on Tuesday and have just picked it up and its a great improvement over the first paint job, He said that Reflex Silver was very hard to apply ??

Silver is pretty tricky. So is Black Magic Pearl. Tornado Red and Candy White are much easier as they're flatter colours.
