    MY MK4 BUILD

    Comment

    • I like ^

Finally got my alignment, steering wheel straightened, and camber dialed in up front.
Only went 1deg at this stage
Omg the car is like new, even with the bushes replaced with rosejoints and dropping back a profile. Even kirst agrees it rides better.
Now to get the cvs replaced, new dog bones and replace the warpped rotors.
      Bora gone
      Vento VR6
      MKIV GSW TDI
      7P Touareg TDI

          Nice one mate!

I might have to get some advice from you on how to make my ride less harsh in the rear, whilst keeping the same ride height, not going any higher. Maybe my rear coilover springs are too stiff/short? Also on the lookout for some 15-20mm 5x100 spacers for my rear wheels!

In other news, I put a claim in to Shannons insurance yesterday for my car park ding/s and am going out to the smash repairs guys to get a quote for the insured work and the extras I want touched up.. see how I go..

Finally some Intercooler progress.. Found an aluminium attachment at Earls Performance for $22, then found a guy who aluminium welded it and drilled it for only $30! If it doesn't rain again tomorrow I can install the whole Intercooler. Finally.

PS- The black screw-on attachment is anodized aluminium, not plastic!

                  • Dylan ran around and got tyres on my new wheels this week - what a top bloke. Hopefully get them on the car within the next week, I can't wait.

I put my roof racks & and bike carrier on for all the Vortex scene points too.

                          • Replaced the shocks on the wife's Bora today... Bilstein all round...
Also swapped the 300k V5 springs with GTI springs.
And changed the front shock mounts too...

All I can say is wow... The car now handles really well, and isn't too rough...
Interestingly, the GTI springs which are 1cm shorter, sit 1cm taller under load.
